Apr 15th
Scanned from the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly, this image of Tom Hardy, Jason Clarke and Shia LaBeouf has popped up online from John Hillcoat’s (The Road, The Proposition) forthcoming prohibition crime-drama ‘Lawless.’ This film is without a doubt one of my anticipated films of 2012, it features a stellar cast in Hardy, LaBeouf, Clarke, Mia Wasikowska, Jessica Chastain, Guy Pearce, Dane DeHaan and Gary Oldman. Adapted from Matt Bondurant’s novel ‘The Wettest County in the World: A Novel Based on a True Story,’ ‘Lawless’ formerly went under the title ‘The Wettest County.’ The story follows the Bondurant brothers (played by LaBeouf, Clarke and Hardy) who become bootleggers in the South during Prohibition. The screenplay for the movie is penned by frequent Hillcoat collaborator Nick Cave – who‘s also on soundtrack duty. Look out for ‘Lawless’ in cinemas August 31st.
Gangster meets Western in LAWLESS, the true story of the freewheelin’ Bondurant brothers, bootlegging siblings taking the law into their own hands. This is the story of the rural hard-men that created the big city gangsters. Brazen and fearless, these young rebel brothers helped build the American Dream in this exuberant tale of what was to become crime’s first major gold rush. The youngest brother, JACK (Shia LaBeouf), fancies himself the next Al Capone; he dreams of sharp suits, guns, girls and fast cars, no matter the cost. Ambitious and impulsive, he takes the family’s small-scale moonshining operation to the big leagues, to impress the gorgeous but off-limits Amish girl, BERTHA (Mia Wasikowska). The middle brother, HOWARD (Jason Clarke), is the brawling muscle – loyal but reckless – never one to turn down a taste of white lightning. And eldest brother, FORREST (Tom Hardy), reluctantly accepts the changing times with grace and grit, leading the family with strength of character and silent determination against the beginnings of corporate greed. An enigmatic and stunning MAGGIE (Jessica Chastain) comes to town with a hidden past, igniting his passion and almost saving him in the process. As the Bondurants’ legend grows, so too does the danger, and it’s not long before the brothers must face the consequences of their transgressions, or rewrite the myth and the law themselves.

New Promo Shot Of Christian Bale’s Batman & Anne Hathaway’s Catwoman For ‘The Dark Knight Rises’
Apr 11th
Christian Bale’s Batman/Bruce Wayne is joined by Anne Hathaway’s Catwoman/Selina Kyle on the cover of the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly. The duo are featured to highlight the magazines “Summer Movie Preview” issue, with the cover-story on Christopher Nolan’s hugely anticipated conclusion to his Batman trilogy, ‘The Dark Knight Rises.’ Entertainment Weekly have shared on their website quotes from the article featuring Anne Hathaway, Christopher Nolan and Tom Hardy, who’s playing Bane. On the topic of Bane, the films primary villain, Christopher Nolan had the following to say, “He represents formidable physical strength, combined with absolute evil of intention.”
Tom Hardy shed some light on Bane’s much talked about accented voice, which is muffled by the rogue’s high-tech muzzle: “It’s a risk, because we could be laughed at — or it could be very fresh and exciting,” says Hardy, adding that the voice he developed was influenced by many factors, including a desire to honor the comic book character’s brains and Caribbean heritage. “The audience mustn’t be too concerned about the mumbly voice,” says Hardy. “As the film progresses, I think you’ll be able to tune to its setting.”
Speaking about Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Christopher Nolan said, “She has a very strong way of protecting herself and those she cares about, which implies an underlying darkness.” While Anne Hathaway opened up about the training process to play the character, “I had to physically transform. Chris sat me down at the beginning and said, ‘Joseph Gordon-Levitt did all of his own fighting in Inception. That one zero-gravity fight? He trained for two months.’ I basically left his office and went to the gym and just came out about five minutes ago.”

New Look At Tom Hardy & Shia LaBeouf In John Hillcoat’s ‘Lawless’

Scanned from the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly, this image of Tom Hardy and Shia LaBeouf has arrived online from John Hillcoat’s (The Road, The Proposition) upcoming prohibition crime-drama ‘Lawless.’ This film is without a doubt one of my anticipated films of 2012, it features a powerhouse cast in Hardy, LaBeouf, Jason Clarke, Mia Wasikowska, Jessica Chastain, Guy Pearce, Dane DeHaan and Gary Oldman. Adapted from Matt Bondurant’s novel ‘The Wettest County in the World: A Novel Based on a True Story,’ ‘Lawless’ formerly went under the title ‘The Wettest County.’ The story follows two brothers (played by LaBeouf and Hardy) who become bootleggers in the South during Prohibition. The screenplay for the film is penned by frequent Hillcoat collaborator Nick Cave – who‘s also on soundtrack duty. Look out for ‘Lawless’ August 31st. Below is a brief synopsis of the novel. Source: ThePlaylist.
This family saga follows the Bondurants, bootlegging brothers runnin’ stills, runnin’ loads, and runnin’ from the law in Depression-era Virginia. The book is mainly narrated through the experience of the youngest Bondurant, Jack (in truth, a grandfather of the author), and his family’s moonshine enterprise supplies the action in a plot that evokes the culture of distilling and distributing white lightning. To optimistic Jack, bootlegging is both a bond to his older brothers, Forrest and Howard, and a means to make cash to impress a girl. Forrest, by contrast, is taciturn and suspicious: the world is violent, and he meets it on that ground. Tender of the stills and imbiber from same, burly Howard is always ready to take on the Bondurants’ enemies, corrupt law officers. Wending through this conflict in flash-forward mode is novelist Sherwood Anderson, who plumbs the Bondurant story a few years after the brothers’ climactic confrontation with the county sheriff. Descriptively gritty and emotionally resonant, novelist Bondurant dramatically projects the poverty and danger at the heart of the old-time bootlegging life.
