3 New Behind-The-Scenes Images From ‘The Wolverine’

Director James Mangold has took to his Twitter account to post a couple behind-the-scenes images from ‘The Wolverine.’ Alongside Hugh Jackman’s Logan/Wolverine, the film stars Hiroyuki Sanada as Shingen, Hal Yamanouchi as Yashida, Tao Okamoto as Mariko, Brian Tee as Norubo Mori, Will Yun Lee as Kenuichio Harada/Silver Samurai, Rila Fukushima as Yukio, and Svetlana Khodchenkova as Viper. Scheduled for release on July 26th, ‘The Wolverine’ is directed by Mangold (3:10 to Yuma, Walk the Line, Knight and Day), while the script is by ‘The Usual Suspects’ scribe Christopher McQuarrie and Mark Bomback.
Describing ‘The Wolverine’ as a “Japanese noir picture with tentpole action in it”, James Mangold recently said the film is set after the previous X-Men movies. ‘The Wolverine’ takes inspiration from Chris Claremont and Frank Miller’s Marvel miniseries from the 1980s dealing with the character’s adventures in Japan. There, samurai steel clashes with adamantium claws as Logan confronts a mysterious figure from his past in an epic battle that will leave him forever changed. In a long line of news, behind-the-scenes images and teasers, director Bryan Singer has tweeted the above image of Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine and Nicholas Hoult’s Beast filming ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ on the set of a very familiar looking hall. Singer captioned the image with: ”Welcome to 1973.” ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past,’ the seventh installment in the ‘X-Men’ film series, commenced filming last month in Montreal, Canada. It will be the first film in the ‘X-Men’ film series to be filmed in 3D.
Bryan Singer recently announced that ‘Game of Thrones’ star Peter Dinklage joined the cast of ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past.’ Further reports bring word that the Emmy and Golden Globe Award winning actor will play the main antagonist in the film. With Singer merging past and present ‘X-Men’ actors for ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past,’ the director also announced that Anna Paquin (Rogue), Ellen Page (Kitty Pryde), Halle Berry (Storm), Daniel Cudmore (Colossus) and Shawn Ashmore (Iceman) will be joining the film – which is ostensibly a sequel to ‘X-Men: First Class,’ but will prominently feature actors from the first ‘X-Men’ trilogy.
