Excellent ‘The Hobbit’ Wizards Artwork Featuring Ian McKellan’s Gandolf, Christopher Lee’s Saruman & Sylvester McCoy’s Radagast
Amina Wolf has drawn this top-notch ‘The Hobbit’ piece centering on the Wizards of the trilogy, Ian McKellan’s Gandolf the Grey, Christopher Lee as Saruman the White, and Sylvester McCoy as Radagast the Brown, showing the three wizards in – some sort of – harmony. The release schedule for the final two ‘The Hobbit’ movies is as follows: ‘The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug’ arrives in cinemas on December 13th; while ’The Hobbit: There and Back Again’ concludes the trilogy on December 17th, 2014. Last month Jackson took to his official Facebook page to reveal a 6-minute excerpt of the live event he hosted for ‘The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug,’ providing us with a first official look at the film. Look out for the film’s first trailer next month with the release of ‘Man of Steel.’

The Hollywood Reporter brings word that Peter Jackson’s ‘The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey’ has reached the colossal $1 billion plateau, making it only the 15th film in history to hit $1 billion in global ticket sales, not accounting for inflation. Propelled by China, the New Line and MGM epic crossed the milestone over the weekend. It’s the second Jackson film after ‘The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King’ ($1.12 billion). As of today, ‘The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey’ has grossed $301.1 million in North America and just shy of $700 million internationally. The film, the first in a trilogy, has grossed roughly $37.3 million in its first 10 days of play in China, the movie’s final major market. The top foreign markets for ‘The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey’ are as follows: Germany ($90 million), followed by the UK ($84.3 million), France ($44.9 million), Australia ($44.3 million) and Russia ($43.8 million).
“We could not be more proud to have reached reached this amazing benchmark. Together with our partners at MGM and New Line, everyone at Warner Bros. congratulates Peter Jackson and his entire cast and crew on the extraordinary success of this film,” said Warners president of domestic distribution Dan Fellman. It’s an exciting bellwether as we move toward the release of the second film in the trilogy.”
ChaoyuanXu has put together this fantastic portrait for ‘The Hobbit.’ The artist added the following caption to the pic: The quest for Erebor the Lonely Mountain. “Far over the Misty Mountain cold, to dungeons deep and caverns old. We must away ere break of day, to find our long-forgotten gold. The pines were roaring on the height, the winds were moaning in the night. The fire was red, it flaming spread, the trees like torches blazed with light”
Accompanying Martin Freeman’s Bilbo Baggins on the quest are Ian McKellen’s Gandalf the Grey Jed Brophy’s Nori, Dean O’Gorman’s Fili, Mark Hadlow’s Dori, James Nesbitt’s Bofur, Peter Hambleton’s Gloin, Graham McTavish’s Dwalin, Ken Stott’s Balin, John Callen’s Oin, Stephen Hunter’s Bombur, William Kircher’s Bifur, Adam Brown’s Ori, Aidan Turner’s Kili and Richard Armitage’s Thorin Oakenshield – the leader of the Company of Dwarves who aim to reclaim the Lonely Mountain from Smaug (Benedict Cumberbatch). Awesome Photorealistic ‘The Hobbit’ Portrait Of Richard Armitage’s Thorin Oakenshield Finding A Friend In Erebor

Today Euclase has unveiled this brilliant piece centering on Richard Armitage’s Thorin alongside Red Fraggle from ‘Fraggle Rock.’ This is the description Euclase provided with the pic: “I thought it might be nice if, instead of a dragon, the Dwarves found Fraggles in their mountain. And they became friends and sang songs and ate radishes. And nobody had to die. In related news, pigs fly.” Head on over to Euclase’s page for more work – definitely a page to bookmark!
