Open Road Films and Endgame Releasing send word that they’ve struck a deal to acquire the U.S. distribution rights to Millennium Films’ action thriller ‘Homefront,’ directed by Gary Fleder (Runaway Jury, Don’t Say A Word) from a screenplay by Sylvester Stallone and based on the book by Chuck Logan. The film stars Jason Statham, James Franco, Winona Ryder, Kate Bosworth, and Frank Grillo. ’Homefront’ will arrive in cinemas on October 4th.
‘Homefront’ follows Phil Broker (Jason Statham), a widowed ex-DEA agent who moves his family to a quiet town hoping to escape his past. However, he finds the town to be overrun with violence, drug traffickers and an evil meth magnate named Gator (James Franco). To save his endangered family, retribution is now the only thing Broker seeks.

MSN has set loose this new clip from ‘Hummingbird’ (‘Crazy Joe’ in France), the feature directorial debut of the ’Eastern Promises’ and ‘Dirty Pretty Things’ writer Steven Knight. In the film, Jason Statham stars as a damaged ex-special forces soldier trapped in London’s criminal underworld who is transformed into an avenging angel when an unexpected opportunity allows him to assume another identity.
