Sep 19th
This new batch of set images, featuring Ryan Reynolds, Jeff Bridges, Kevin Bacon and Stephanie Szostak, have emerged online from director Robert Schwentke’s (Red) upcoming adaptation of the Dark Horse comic series ‘R.I.P.D.’ The initialism stands for “Rest in Peace Department,” the story follows a cop killed in the line of duty who is recruited by a team of undead police officers working for the Department – a police force comprised of ghosts who battle spirits unready to depart this world. The film also stars the likes of James Hong, Marisa Miller and Mary-Louise Parker.
‘R.I.P.D.’ hits cinemas June 28th, 2013. Bridges will play Roy Powell, a gunslinger who’s been dead for hundreds of years. Reynolds will play Powell’s partner, Nick Cruz, the recently murdered cop who’s out for revenge. Check out the synopsis for the comic here: “Welcome to the Rest In Peace Department — the devoted, yet dead, officers of divine law enforcement “patrolling the deadbeat…reporting to one boss.” Yep — THAT boss. Nick Cruz was murdered by an unknown assailent, at the height of his personal and professional life. Now he’s traded a hundred years of service to the R.I.P.D. in exchange for a shot at finding who killed him. Unfortunately his search will take him to Hell and back — literally!”

Jeff Bridges Interview For ‘True Grit’ – Out Now On Blu-Ray & DVD
Jun 18th
Fourteen-year-old Mattie Ross’s (Hailee Steinfeld) father has been shot in cold blood by the coward Tom Chaney (Josh Brolin), and she is determined to bring him to justice. Enlisting the help of a trigger-happy, drunken U.S. Marshal Rooster Cogburn (Jeff Bridges), she sets out with him – over his objections – to hunt down Chaney. Her father’s blood demands that she pursue the criminal into Indian territory and find him before a Texas Ranger named LeBoeuf (Matt Damon) catches him and brings him back to Texas for the murder of another man. Check out what Jeff Bridges had to say about the film below. ‘True Grit’ was released on Blu-Ray and DVD earlier this week in the UK.
You got to work with the Coen brothers again on this.
Jeff Bridges: I love working with the Coen Brothers, they’re the tops of their field. They’re just wonderful filmmakers, they make it look so easy. They’ve assembled a great group of artists they work with all the time. Roger Deakins, the cinematographer of ‘True Grit’ also shot ‘The Big Lebowski’ and a dozen other films the Coen Brothers have done. The heads of each of the departments are all guys they’ve worked with before, who’s work they admire and respect, they bring such detail to the films. That creates a relaxed atmosphere on the set, everybody knows each other, it’s great. These guys, they’re just the best in the biz (laughs). They’re very laid back, they encourage you to put in all the input you wanna give, they’re very inclusive that way. Whenever they’re throwing a party I wanna go man, they’re great.
Four New Behind-The-Scene Featurettes For The Coen Brothers’ ‘True Grit’
Jan 26th
On the back of True Grit’s hefty 10 Oscar nominations Paramount Pictures have released these four behind-the-scenes featurettes which give us a closer look at the cinematography, costumes, production design, and the music of the Coen Brothers’ film. True Grit is out now in the US. The movie is set for release in the UK the 11th of February, I’d strongly recommend giving it a peep – it’s a gem!
Following the murder of her father by hired hand Tom Chaney, 14-year-old farm girl Mattie Ross sets out to capture the killer. To aid her, she hires the toughest U.S. marshal she can find, a man with “true grit,” Reuben J. “Rooster” Cogburn. Mattie insists on accompanying Cogburn, whose drinking, sloth, and generally reprobate character do not augment her faith in him. Against his wishes, she joins him in his trek into the Indian Nations in search of Chaney. They are joined by Texas Ranger LaBoeuf, who wants Chaney for his own purposes. The unlikely trio find danger and surprises on the journey, and each has his or her “grit” tested.

Four new clips have their made way online for the Coen Brothers ‘True Grit.’ I’m gonna be totally honest and admit I haven’t even watched them – I’m too excited for the film, I want to go in fresh….that being said I’m sure they’re each exceptionally epic! The Coen Brothers’ have said that this version of True Grit sticks closer to the source material of Charles Portis’ novel than the John Wayne classic. Check out the synopsis below. I fully expect this to be one of 2010′s finest.
