New ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ Viral Document Teases “Operation Early Bird”
Dec 8th
Hot on the heels of yesterday’s two viral documents for Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Dark Knight Rises,’ @TheFireRises has released this third, teasing an event called “Operation Early Bird” – which is set to take place tomorrow at 10am PST (6pm GMT). The viral document contiunes the angle of Alon Abutbul’s “mad scientist” character, Dr. Leonid Pavel. With the release of the first full-length trailer for ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ later this month, it’s likely that these documents are just the first steps in a much larger viral campaign.
‘The Dark Knight Rises’ stars Christian Bale, Anne Hathaway, Tom Hardy, Gary Oldman, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman, Marion Cotillard, Juno Temple, Josh Pence, Daniel Sunjata, Nestor Carbonell, Tom Conti, Joey King, Brett Cullen, Chris Ellis, Josh Stewart, Christopher Judge, Adam Rodriguez and Rob Brown. The plot for the film is being kept securely under lock and key. Judging by the teaser and the previous two films I’d expect something E P I C. Chistopher Nolan will direct the film from a screenplay he wrote with Jonathan Nolan. The filming locations for ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ have spanned three continents and include the American cities of Pittsburgh, New York and Los Angeles, as well as sites in India, England and Scotland. ‘The Dark Knight Rises,’ the eagerly anticipated epic conclusion to the Dark Knight legend, is scheduled for release on July 20th 2012.

Dec 7th
Wired and Empire have released these two viral documents for Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Dark Knight Rises. The “CIA Bulletin” features information on a “Dr. Leonid Pavel (Alon Abutbul),” a Russian scientist of some type, who I assume has something to do with Bane and the doomsday device he threatens Gotham City with in the film. With the release of the first full-length trailer for ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ later this month, it’s likely that these two documents are just the first step in a much larger viral campaign.

Gary Oldman Talks About ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ & The Mind Set Of Jim Gordon
Nov 30th
On the red carpet of the Gotham Awards, Gary Oldman talked to MTV briefly about Christopher Nolan’s hugely anticipated Batman threequel, ‘The Dark Knight Rises,’ and the direction his character, Jim Gordon, is going in. On the lack of his Jim Gordon Mustache: “The Gordon mustache is retired. They gave me a shadow box and it had in it my badge, my glasses, and a mustache. And he (Gordon) is retired.” On the mind set of Gordon in ‘The Dark Knight Rises’: “He is a little reminiscent of the Gordon you see in Batman Begins. They have tidied up the city, but there is still work to be done. He is very world weary.” On his co-star Joseph Gordon-Levitt: “He is someone who is talented. I do these scenes with him and you can’t put a pin through an insincere moment. It’s wonderful. You come out of character sometimes, because you watch actors and you find your self going God he’s really good. He’s lovely.”
Alongside Oldman, the film also stars Christian Bale, Anne Hathaway, Tom Hardy, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman, Marion Cotillard, Juno Temple, Josh Pence, Daniel Sunjata, Nestor Carbonell, Tom Conti, Joey King, Brett Cullen, Chris Ellis, Josh Stewart, Christopher Judge, Adam Rodriguez and Rob Brown. Christian Bale Talks About His ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ Co-Stars Anne Hathaway & Tom Hardy
Nov 26th
On the promotional campaign for Zhang Yimou’s ‘The Flowers of War,’ Christian Bale opened up to the Inquirer about his three new co-stars – Anne Hathaway, Tom Hardy and Joseph Gordon-Levitt – in Christopher Nolan’s hugely anticipated Batman threequel ‘The Dark Knight Rises.’ The film also stars Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, Marion Cotillard, Juno Temple, Josh Pence, Daniel Sunjata, Nestor Carbonell, Tom Conti, Joey King, Brett Cullen, Chris Ellis, Josh Stewart, Christopher Judge, Adam Rodriguez and Rob Brown.
Talking about Anne Hathaway: I’m terrible at auditions, so I’m very impressed when somebody really seems to acquire an ownership of a character without having worked on it or prepared for some amount of time. I saw that in Anne. In many ways, she has the hardest job. There are a number of people who feel that the Catwoman role has been defined previously. So, I always saw Anne’s role as being the toughest job of any of us.”
About Tom Hardy, who plays Bane: “He is a phenomenal actor. I like working with him a great deal. He goes the whole hog. I know that Bane has been seen in movies before. But, in my eyes, Tom is essentially creating Bane for the first time so there’s great freedom for him to be able to do so.”
