Two Hi-Res Images From ‘Men In Black 3′ – Featuring Will Smith & Tommy Lee Jones
Jan 18th
Sony Pictures has released, in hi-res, these two previously seen, in low-res, images of Will Smith (Agent J) and Tommy Lee Jones (Agent K) for Barry Sonnenfeld’s ‘Men In Black 3.’ Alongside the two main protagonists, the film co-stars Sacha Baron Cohen, Emma Thompson, Emma Thompson, Jermaine Clement, Sharlto Copley, Johnny Knoxville, Alice Eve, Betty White, Nicole Scherzinger, and Josh Brolin – who’s portraying a younger version of Tommy Lee Jones’s character Agent K. For those confused why Brolin is playing a younger Agent K, part of the plot for ‘Men in Black 3’ involves Agent J going back to the 1960s to save K and thus prevent a universe-ending catastrophe. ‘Men in Black’ and ‘Men in Black 2,’ which came out in 1997 and 2002 respectively, have combined to earn nearly 1.1 billion dollars worldwide – big chee$e. ‘Men in Black 3’ is set for release May 25th.
In Men In Black 3, Agents J (Will Smith) and K (Tommy Lee Jones) are back… in time. J has seen some inexplicable things in his 15 years with the Men in Black, but nothing, not even aliens, perplexes him as much as his wry, reticent partner. But when K’s life and the fate of the planet are put at stake, Agent J will have to travel back in time to put things right. J discovers that there are secrets to the universe that K never told him — secrets that will reveal themselves as he teams up with the young Agent K (Josh Brolin) to save his partner, the agency, and the future of humankind.

Production On Spike Lee’s Josh Brolin-Starring ‘Oldboy’ Remake Delayed Until Late Summer/Early Fall
Jan 6th
Variety’s Jeff Sneider is reporting that production on Spike Lee’s remake of Chan-wook Park’s classic South Korean film ‘Oldboy’ has been halted until late summer/early fall, due to Josh Brolin’s press commitments for ‘Men in Black 3.’ Sneider also reveals that Clive Owen is now unlikely to take on the role of the villain in the film – which had previously been linked to Christian Bale and Colin Firth. ‘Oldboy’ tells the story of a Joe (Dae-su Oh in the original), a man who is kidnapped and imprisoned on his daughters birthday. For fifteen years he is held captive, and upon his release must begin his journey to find the reason for his imprisonment. He soon finds out that his kidnapper has plans for him more tortuous than his solitary confinement. The original film, released in 2003, won the much coveted Grand Prize Jury Award at the 2004 Cannes Film Festival.
I’m a big fan of both Josh Brolin and Spike Lee, I still don’t quite grasp remaking such a unique and flawless film though if I’m honest. I am however giving this film the benefit of the doubt as Spike Lee is such a talented and original film-maker himself, without doubt one of my favourite directors working today. The combination of Spike Lee and Josh Brolin is certainly a FAR better fit to the material than Will Smith and Steven Spielberg – who had previously been linked to the project. Expect more details soon.
Clive Owen Offered The Lead Villain Opposite Josh Brolin In Spike Lee’s ‘Oldboy’ Remake

Twitchfilm are reporting that Clive Owen has been offered the role of the lead villain opposite Josh Brolin in Spike Lee’s forthcoming remake of Chan-wook Park’s classic South Korean film ‘Oldboy.’ It had previously been reported that Christian Bale and Colin Firth were in talks for the role. ‘Oldboy’ tells the story of a Joe (Dae-su Oh in the original), a man who is kidnapped and imprisoned on his daughters birthday. “Twitch has learned that the villain role has now been offered to Clive Owen. Owen and Lee have history, of course, having worked together on Lee’s underrated thriller The Inside Man. That the director and star know and like each other is certainly a plus but a much bigger plus is that Owen embodies the perfect blend of sophistication and menace that the part requires along with the sort of charisma needed to go toe to toe with Brolin. Now he just needs to say yes.”

First Official Image From ‘The Gangster Squad’ – Starring Sean Penn, Josh Brolin & Ryan Gosling
Dec 9th
EntertainmentWeekly has released this first official image from Ruben Fleischer’s (30 Minutes or Less, Zombieland) highly-anticipated crime drama ‘The Gangster Squad.’ The film features a phenominal cast in Sean Penn, Emma Stone, Ryan Gosling, Josh Brolin, Anthony Mackie, Robert Patrick, Michael Pena, Mireille Enos, Giovanni Ribisi, and Nick Nolte.
The drama, based on a series of articles by Paul Lieberman, is the fact-based tale of the crime fighting exploits of a squad of elite Los Angeles officers in the 1940s charged with stopping ruthless Brooklyn-born mob king Mickey Cohen (Sean Penn), who runs the show in Los Angeles, reaping the ill-gotten gains from the drugs, the guns, the prostitutes and—if he has his way—every wire bet placed west of Chicago. Cohen does it all with the protection of not only his own paid goons, but also the police and the politicians who are under his control. It’s enough to intimidate even the bravest, street-hardened cop…except, perhaps, for the small, secret crew of LAPD outsiders led by Sgt. John O’Mara (Josh Brolin) and Jerry Wooters (Ryan Gosling), who come together to try to tear Cohen’s world apart.
