Liam Neeson Speaks On ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ & Christopher Nolan’s Secrecy
Oct 4th
Speaking to Hollywood.com on the promotional campaign for ‘Taken 2,’ Liam Neeson talked briefly about revisiting his character of Ra’s al Ghul in Christopher Nolan’s exhilarating finale to his Dark Knight trilogy, ‘The Dark Knight Rises.’ Discussing the mystery surrounding ‘Taken 2′ during the film’s production, Neeson shed some light on Nolan’s notorious secrecy during ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ production, “[Nolan] takes it to another extreme — I didn’t know I was in the movie. I went and shot a scene for two hours with Christian Bale. There was a set, and Christian was tied up.” Neeson then shared a conversation he had with director Nolan on set, doing his best impression of the filmmaker: “I said, ‘Chris, what am I doing?’ [As Nolan:] ‘Um… well, just walk forward, and say the lines, walk back, and that’ll be it, really.’ I said, ‘What the f***? Tell me the story!’ [As Nolan:] ‘Um… I’d prefer not to, really.’ Okay, don’t mind me — I’m just an actor.”
Liam Neeson also touched on his enjoyment shooting Christopher Nolan’s Batman movies, in particular his subarctic fight scene with Christian Bale’s Bruce Wayne in ‘Batman Begins,’ “I love the fight I have with Christian in Batman Begins, because we were actually on this glacier, this real glacier, in Iceland.” If that doesn’t sound safe to you, well… it probably wasn’t. “We had these glacier wranglers, believe it or not. So when we went on fighting with a reduced crew, the glacier wranglers would say, ‘Okay, everybody off.’ So we’d all stand to the side of this beautiful, big blue glacier, and this ice. You’d hear this sound of nature just moving as this thing moved, maybe a quarter of an inch. The ice kind of went ‘Rrrrr!’ And then it all stopped, and the guy would say, ‘Okay, you can go on again.’ [I thought,] ‘What are we doing here?’”
First Official Look At Daniel Radcliffe In ‘Horns’
Oct 2nd
EW has revealed this first official look at Daniel Radcliffe in the fantasy/thriller ‘Horns.’ Directed by Alexandre Aja (Piranha 3D, High Tension) and based on Joe Hill’s popular novel of the same name, ‘Horns’ follows Ig Perrish (Radcliffe), the number one suspect for the violent rape and murder of his girlfriend. Hungover from a night of hard drinking, Ig awakens one morning to find horns starting to grow from his own head and soon realizes their power drives people to confess their sins and give in to their most selfish and unspeakable impulses – an effective tool in his quest to discover the true circumstances of his late girlfriend’s tragedy and for exacting revenge on her killer.
Speaking to EW, Daniel Radcliffe describes his new role as, “deeply emotional and also incredibly outrageous in some ways.” On the opportunity of playing Ig, Radcliffe says, “To play somebody who, in the midst of a time in his life of great turmoil anyway, undergoes this horrific transformation into a devil character — it was very, very exciting.” The widely acclaimed book was on the New York Times best seller list for six weeks, and has become an international bestseller as well. The likes of Juno Temple, Joe Anderson, Kelli Garner, Max Minghella and James Remar also star in ‘Horns.’ Expect a release schedule announcement shortly.
