Laurence Fishburne Interview For ‘Contagion’

Directed by Steven Soderbergh from an original screenplay by Scott Z. Burns (The Bourne Ultimatum,The Informant!), ‘Contagion’ follows the rapid progress of a lethal airborne virus that kills within days. As the fast-moving epidemic grows, the worldwide medical community races to find a cure and control the panic that spreads faster than the virus itself. At the same time, ordinary people struggle to survive in a society coming apart. Laurence Fishburne stars as Dr. Ellis Cheever alongside a stellar cast which includes the likes of Matt Damon, Jude Law, Kate Winslet, Jennifer Ehle, Marion Cotillard, Gwyneth Paltrow, Bryan Cranston, Demitri Martin, Sanaa Lathan and Elliott Gould. ‘Contagion’ opens September 9th in the US, and October 21st in the UK. Your character, Dr. Ellis Cheever, how is he involved in the story?
Laurence Fishburne: He’s the head of the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention), he’s the man responsible for sending people out into the field to figure out what this virus is, where the virus came from, what the virus is not, how to combat the virus and how to produce a vaccine for the virus. He’s got a lot of responsibility. He’s also the face of the CDC, so when people are asking, the media are asking, ‘what is this thing?’ He’s the guy that is supposed to have the answers, and share the information in such a way that people are informed but that they don’t panic.
Laurence Fishburne Cast As Perry White In Zack Snyder’s ‘Superman: Man of Steel’

EW bring word that Laurence Fishburne has joined the cast of Zack Snyder’s ‘Superman: Man of Steel’ in the role of Perry White – the Editor-in-Chief of Clark Kent’s newspaper outlet, “The Daily Planet”. Perry White has traditionally been a hard-charging, old fashioned newspaperman, who relies on his ace reporters, Clark and Lois, to get the big scoop.
‘Superman: Man Of Steel’ also stars Henry Cavill as Superman/Clark Kent, Amy Adams as the plucky journalist Lois Lane, Michael Shannon as General Zod, Antje Traue as Faora, Russell Crowe as Superman’s biological father Jor-El, Kevin Costner as Superman/Clarke’s adoptive father Jonathan Kent, and Diane Lane, who plays his wife Martha. Written by David Goyer and Jonathan Nolan, the film is set for release June 14th, 2013.
Laurence Fishburne’s New Predators Character Featurette

As someone who doesn’t watch CSI, I haven’t seen Laurence Fishburne on screen in a while. I’ve always liked Fishburne and from reading a bunch of comments online I’m happy to see everyone seems to be as excited seeing him in Predators as much as I am. Robert Rodriguez is completely earning his money worth as the Producer on Predators, in this featurette he gives us an inside look at Fishburne’s character Noland.
A bold new chapter in the Predator universe, Predators was shot on location under Rodriguez’s creative auspices at the filmmaker’s Austin-based Troublemaker Studios, and is directed by Nimród Antal. The film stars Adrien Brody as Royce, a mercenary who reluctantly leads a group of elite warriors who come to realize they’ve been brought together on an alien planet… as prey. With the exception of a disgraced physician, they are all cold-blooded killers – mercenaries, Yakuza, convicts, death squad members – human “predators” that are now being systemically hunted and eliminated by a new breed of alien Predators. In addition to Adrien Brody, the film stars Topher Grace, Alice Braga, and Laurence Fishburne. Co-starring are Walton Goggins, Danny Trejo, Oleg Taktarov and Mahershalalhashbaz Ali.
New Predators Featurette With Robert Rodriguez & Director Nimrod Antal

Considering how much I loved the teaser trailer, my bum is still firmly sitting on the fence for this, Robert Rodriguez is a name synonymous with being either hit or miss for me (I love the look of Machete though 
). Director Nimrod Antal’s previous efforts have been pretty solid but nothing that has made me jizz in my pants. I’m a fan of Danny Trejo and Laurence Fishburne though, and have like what I’ve seen so far, this featurette makes me raise my bum ever so slightly.
