Three New Images From ‘The Perks of Being a Wallflower’ – Starring Logan Lerman & Emma Watson

Indiewire has unveiled these three new images from the coming-of-age drama ‘The Perks of Being a Wallflower.’ The story centers on 15-year-old Charlie (Logan Lerman), an endearing and naive outsider, coping with first love (Emma Watson), the suicide of his best friend, and his own mental illness while struggling to find a group of people with whom he belongs. Charlie, the wallflower of the title, goes through a veritable bath of bathos in his 10th grade year, 1991. The novel is formatted as a series of letters to an unnamed “friend,” the first of which reveals the suicide of Charlie’s pal Michael. Charlie’s response–valid enough–is to cry. The crying soon gets out of hand, though–in subsequent letters, his father, his aunt, his sister and his sister’s boyfriend all become lachrymose. Charlie has the usual dire adolescent problems–sex, drugs, the thuggish football team–and they perplex him in the usual teen TV ways. Into these standard teenage issues Chbosky infuses a droning insistence on Charlie’s supersensitive disposition. Charlie’s English teacher and others have a disconcerting tendency to rhapsodize over Charlie’s giftedness, which seems to consist of Charlie’s unquestioning assimilation of the teacher’s taste in books. In the end we learn the root of Charlie’s psychological problems, and we confront, with him, the coming rigors of 11th grade, ever hopeful that he’ll find a suitable girlfriend and increase his vocabulary.

Orlando Bloom & Matthew Macfadyen Interview For ‘The Three Musketeers’
Oct 4th
“One-for-all and all-for-one.” The hot-headed young D’Artagnan (Logan Lerman) joins forces with three rogue Musketeers (Matthew Macfadyen, Luke Evans and Ray Stevenson) in this reboot of Alexandre Dumas’ classic story ‘The Three Musketeers.’ They must stop the evil Richlieu (Christoph Waltz) and face off with Buckingham (Orlando Bloom) and the treacherous Milady (Milla Jovovich). Directed by Paul W.S. Anderson’s, the action adventure is given a state of the art update in 3-D. The film also stars Mads Mikkelson, Gabriella Wilde, Freddie Fox, James Corden and Juno Temple. ‘The Three Musketeers’ is released in cinemas October 12th in the UK, and October 21st in the US. Check out what Orlando Bloom and Matthew Macfadyen had to say about the film below.
The Duke of Buckingham is a right rascal, I can imagine he was a tonne of fun to play?
Orlando Bloom: Absolutely! One of the things that attracted me to this project was that I kind of get to be a caddish, rakish, rogue. Buckingham is not the arch-enemy, he’s more of a rascal – that’s a lot of fun to play. He’s a protagonist so he really keys off of Cardinal Richelieu and M’lady De Winter. He was the wealthiest courtier of his Kings reign, he’s kind of like a big spoilt brat. The script read like a really fantastic, contemporary action adventure movie, but its set in the period, its gonna be a great crowd pleaser. He was a lot of fun.
Milla Jovovich Interview For ‘The Three Musketeers’
Oct 2nd
Based on Alexandre Dumas’ classic novel comes a big-screen action adventure update of ‘The Three Musketeers,’ conceived and shot in state-of-the-art 3D. They are known as Porthos (Ray Stevenson), Athos (Matthew Macfadyen), and Aramis (Luke Evans) – three elite warriors who serve the King of France as his best Musketeers. After discovering an evil conspiracy to overthrow the King, the Musketeers come across a young, aspiring hero – D’Artagnan (Logan Lerman) – and take him under their wing. Together, the four embark on a dangerous mission to foil the plot that not only threatens the Crown, but the future of Europe itself. Directed by Paul W.S. Anderson, ‘The Three Musketeers’ also stars Milla Jovovich, Mads Mikkelson, Gabriella Wilde, Juno Temple, Orlando Bloom and Christoph Waltz. The film is released in cinemas October 12th in the UK, and October 21st in the US. Look out for more in-depth interviews closer to the films release date.
How do you think the original story lends itself to an action film?
Milla Jovovich: For me ‘The Three Musketeers’ was always the classic action-packed book that you can’t stop reading once you start, its a page turner. Alexandre Dumas was really that type of writer where every chapter leaves you hanging and you want to know what happens next. It’s very classical literature, it’s something we study at school – but at the same time there’s nothing boring about it. It’s one of my favourite books because of the nature of it. When it came out as a book back in its day it was pretty much what an action movie is today.
