Jeremy Renner Offered The Lead In Tony Gilroy’s ‘The Bourne Legacy’?
Apr 2nd
Latinoreview bring word of two new developments in regards to Tony Gilroy’s Bourne spin-off, ‘The Bourne Legacy.’ Apparently Gilroy’s top choice for the lead in the film was Oscar Issac (who’s currently starring in Sucker Punch), however Universal Pictures didn’t approve of Issac for reasons currently unknown. The second tidbit of information is that Jeremy Renner is to be offered the lead role in the film. To be honest I don’t see this happening as Renner is already attached to two HUGE franchises in The Avengers/Marvel world and Mission: Impossible, you never know though, I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
The likes of Joel Edgerton (Animal Kingdom), Dominic Cooper (The Devil’s Double), Garrett Hedlund (Tron: Legacy) and Luke Evans (The Amateur American) had previously been linked with the part. Tony Gilroy wrote the previous three Bourne movies along with ‘The Devil’s Advocate’ and ‘Michael Clayton’ (which he also directed) – each thoroughly thumbs up worthy movies! Also to point out while the film shares a title with the book ‘The Bourne Legacy’ by Eric Van Lustbader – the first book in the series after original writer Robert Ludlum’s death – Gilroy says it’s a stand alone script that does not follow the same plot. The film will feature a whole new hero in the same universe, which is a bit of a bummer for me. With my somewhat limited intellect it’s hard to think of a Bourne movie without Jason Bourne! ‘The Bourne Legacy’ comes to cinemas August 3rd, 2012.
Joel Edgerton, Dominic Cooper, Garrett Hedlund & Luke Evans Testing For The Lead In ‘The Bourne Legacy’

Deadline, through their seemingly endless supply of sources, hear that Joel Edgerton (Animal Kingdom), Dominic Cooper (The Devil’s Double), Garrett Hedlund (Tron: Legacy) and Luke Evans (The Amateur American) are set to test for the lead in Tony Gilroy’s Bourne spinoff, ‘The Bourne Legacy.’ Logan Marshall-Green, Shia LaBeouf and Taylor Kitsch are also said to be in the running. Out of the named mentioned above I’d personally like to see Edgerton get the role, his beard was amazing in ‘Animal Kingdom,’ as was his acting.

The Likes Of Jake Gyllenhaal, Michael Fassbender & Luke Evans In Contention For The Lead In ‘The Bourne Legacy’
Feb 25th
Rumoured to be in contention for the lead in Tony Gilroy’s The Bourne Identity spinoff, ‘The Bourne Legacy,’ include Joel Edgerton, Josh Hartnett, Jake Gyllenhaal, Tobey Maguire, Paul Dano, Michael Pitt, Oscar Isaac, Garrett Hedlund, Michael Fassbender, Luke Evans, Alex Pettyfer, Taylor Kitsch and Benjamin Walker, basically a bunch of white male actors except for Oscar Isaac, please expand your horizons hollywood! I personally would love to see Anthony Mackie in the role. Out of the list above Fassbender would be my pick of the bunch.

New Trailer For Tamara Drewe – Starring Gemma Arterton, Dominic Cooper & Luke Evans
Aug 27th

Yahoo have just debuted a brand new trailer for Stephen Frear’s Tamara Drewe. Lead star Gemma Arterton has been all over the shop in 2010, Tamara Drewe is her fourth feature film this year after Clash Of The Titans, Prince Of Persia and The Disappearance Of Alice Creed. As I’ve said before director Stephen Frear’s films aren’t always my bowl of rice, that considering I’ve liked what I’ve seen so far from this, it looks like a film full of cheek, lust and humour, a potent combination! Look out for this in cinemas September 10th.
Once a shy and unattractive teenager from a small rural idyll, Tamara’s (Gemma Arterton) past catches up with her when she returns to the village and has to face an old flame. With a rock-star boyfriend back in London she gets caught in a love triangle and becomes the focus of gossiping locals. The film co-stars Dominic Cooper, Roger Allam, Luke Evans, Bill Camp and Tamsin Greig.
First UK Trailer For Tamara Drewe – Starring Gemma Arterton & Dominic Cooper
Jul 23rd
The Guardian have released the first UK trailer for Stephen Frears Tamara Drewe, the big screen adaptation of Posy Simmonds’ comic strip of the same name. I’ve been looking forward to this for the last few months now, I’m a fan of the cast and Stephen Frears is a great director, not everything he makes is for my personal tastes but Tamara Drewe is definitely up my alley, I love a twisted tale! Look out for this at your local cinema September 10th. Check out the trailer at The Guardian’s website, sorry no embed
