Three New Images From ‘Green Lantern’ – Starring Ryan Reynolds, Mark Strong & Tim Robbins
Apr 21st
My excitement is growing for this film week by week! Following on from the excellently geektastic four minutes of footage from the film that was released a few weeks back, Warner Bros have unveiled these three new images from Martin Campbell’s ‘Green Lantern’ featuring Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan/Green Lantern and Tomar-Re, who is voiced by Geoffrey Rush. The film also stars Blake Lively, Peter Sarsgaard, Mark Strong, Jon Tenney and Tim Robbins. Look out for ‘Green Lantern’ in cinemas June 17th. UPDATE - Two UK posters added.
Bringing the enduringly popular superhero to the big screen for the first time, “Green Lantern” stars Ryan Reynolds (“X-Men Origins: Wolverine”) in the title role, under the direction of Martin Campbell (“Casino Royale”). In a universe as vast as it is mysterious, a small but powerful force has existed for centuries. Protectors of peace and justice, they are called the Green Lantern Corps. A brotherhood of warriors sworn to keep intergalactic order, each Green Lantern wears a ring that grants him superpowers. But when a new enemy called Parallax threatens to destroy the balance of power in the Universe, their fate and the fate of Earth lie in the hands of their newest recruit, the first human ever selected: Hal Jordan.

Breaking News USA have got their mitts on these three images of Ryan Reynolds decked out in his full CG suit for ‘Green Lantern.’ I personally dig it, the suit is supposed to be a living thing that just forms on Reynolds character Hal Jordan/Green Lantern, these images really capture that. The Martin Campbell (Casino Royale, Edge Of Darkness) directed superhero flick also stars Blake Lively, Peter Sarsgaard, Mark Strong, Jon Tenney, Geoffrey Rush and Tim Robbins. Look out for the film in cinemas June 17th.

Channing Tatum, Tahar Rahim & Kevin Macdonald Interview For ‘The Eagle’ – Out In The UK Wednesday
Mar 22nd
The Roman epic adventure flick ’The Eagle’ is directed by Academy Award winner Kevin Macdonald, and stars the likes of Channing Tatum, Jamie Bell, Tahar Rahim and Mark Strong. 20 years before the films narrative, Rome’s 5,000-strong Ninth Legion, under the command of Flavius Aquila, marched north carrying their treasured golden Eagle emblem. They never returned, mysteriously vanishing into the mists of Scotland.
Hearing a rumour that the Eagle has been seen in a tribal temple in the far north, Flavius’ son Marcus (Tatum), determined to restore the tarnished reputation of his father, is galvanized into action. Accompanied only by his slave Esca (Bell), Marcus sets out into the vast and dangerous highlands of Scotland – to confront its savage tribes, make peace with his father’s memory, and retrieve the hallowed Eagle. Along the way Marcus realizes that the mystery of his father’s disappearance may well be linked to the secret of his own slave’s identity and loyalty – a secret all the more pressing when the two come face-to-face with the warriors of the fearsome Seal Prince (Tahar Rahim). Check out what Kevin Macdonald, Channing Tatum and Tahar Rahim had to say about the film below. ‘The Eagle’ is out in UK cinemas March 23rd. You can check out my Jamie Bell interview for the film here.
Were there any surprises in terms of the physicality of role?
Channing Tatum: Yeah, I don’t think even if they’d told me it was going to be the coldest thing you’ll ever go through in your life, I still don’t think I would have really understood it until the second day and I’m soaked all the way through and it was almost freezing. Being outside for 13 hours a day, sometimes we couldn’t even get trailers to the locations, so we would hike in for like 20, 30 minutes, carrying the camera‘s to the set. Even our director was carrying cameras and reels out to the set. So it was really a tight knit family, and you go through hell together, and that’s really what Jamie and my characters did. We’re all a lot closer of a family for it.
