Oct 18th
Unsatisfied with just giving us a wonderful trailer today, Paramount Pictures have now released (via Yahoo) this dashing poster for the Mark Wahlberg and Christian Bale starring ‘The Fighter’. This really does look like a gem. The Fighter is set to be released December 10th in the US and Febuary 11th in the UK. Check out the synopsis below.
The Fighter is a drama about boxer “Irish” Micky Ward’s (Wahlberg) unlikely road to the world light welterweight title. His Rocky-like rise was shepherded by half-brother Dicky (Bale), a boxer-turned-trainer who rebounded in life after nearly being KO’d by drugs and crime.
Second Trailer For The Fighter – Starring Mark Wahlberg, Christian Bale & Amy Adams

The second trailer for David O. Russell’s The Fighter has hit the interwebs and I’m glad to say it’s a step up from the previous one. It truly looks like we’re in for a treat, the film looks fantastic! I’m sure this will be the film that Christian Bale finally gets his Oscar nomination, his dedication to his roles are remarkable. Both him and Mark Wahlberg look like they went all out with their respected parts, Bale has lost a tonne of weight to play an addict (as he also did in Rescue Dawn and more extremely in The Machinist) and Mark Wahlberg has beefed up to play former Welterweight Micky Ward. I’m a sucker for a good boxing movie as it is. This looks like it could be one of 2010′s finest.
Starring Christian Bale, Amy Adams and Mark Wahlberg and Directed by David O. Russell. The film centres around the life of professional boxer “Irish” Micky Ward (Wahlberg) and his older drug addicted brother Dickie Eklund (Bale).
Will Ferrell’s ‘The Other Guys’ Character Alan Gamble’s NYPD Recruitment Video
Aug 4th
FunnyOrDie have released a great new video featuring Will Ferrell’s character in The Other Guys – Detective Alan Gamble – recording a recruitment ad for the New York Police Department. As expected it doesn’t exactly go to plan – to hilarious effect. The Other Guys get’s the unofficial honour of two thumbs up for potential excellence, it looks like a fun ride. The Other Guys is a buddy-cop action/comedy from the Anchorman, Talladega Nights and Step Brothers creators Will Ferrell and Adam McKay, the film stars Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg in the two lead roles and has an incredibilistic supporting cast of Rob Riggle, Michael Keaton, Eva Mendez, Steve Coogan, Anne Heche, Damon Wayons Jr, Samuel L. Jackson and Dwayne Johnson. The Other Guys is in US cinemas the 6th August, the UK release date is the 2nd of September.
Set in New York City, The Other Guys follows Detective Allen Gamble (Will Ferrell), a forensic accountant who’s more interested in paperwork than hitting the streets, and Detective Terry Hoitz (Mark Wahlberg), a tough guy who has been stuck with Allen as his partner ever since an unfortunate run-in with Derek Jeter. Allen and Terry idolize the city’s top cops, Danson and Highsmith (Dwayne Johnson and Samuel L. Jackson), but when an opportunity arises for the Other Guys to step up, things don’t quite go as planned.

This has all the right ingredients to be hilarious. The Other Guys is a buddy-cop comedy from the Anchorman, Talladega Nights and Step Brothers creators Will Ferrell and Adam McKay. The supporting cast alone is fantabulous – Rob Riggle, Michael Keaton, Eva Mendez, Steve Coogan, Anne Heche, Damon Wayons Jr, Samuel L. Jackson and Dwayne Johnson. Ferrell is unrivalled at playing the loud fool, from what I’ve seen so far this get’s two thumbs up. From the trailer it looks like this is what Cop Out set out to be, in reality that turned out to be a steaming turd of epic proportions. The Other Guys opens August 6th in the US and September 1st in the UK.

This looks likes some good dumb fun. The Other Guys is a buddy-cop comedy from Anchorman, Talladega Nights and Step Brothers creators Will Ferrell and Adam McKay. The supporting cast is BRILLIANT – Rob Riggle, Michael Keaton, Eva Mendez, Steve Coogan, Anne Heche, Damon Wayons Jr, Samuel L. Jackson and Dwayne Johnson. From the trailer it looks like this is what Cop Out wished it was (it was pretty poor). Ferrell is unrivalled at playing the fool, from what I’ve seen so far this get’s two thumbs up.
