Official Plot Synopsis For Matthew Vaughn’s ‘X-Men: First Class’ – Starring Michael Fassbender & James McAvoy
Dec 12th
20th Century Fox have unveiled the official plot synopsis for Matthew Vaughn’s (Kick Ass, Layer Cake) upcoming Marvel prequel ‘X-Men: First Class.’ The synopsis reveals that Professor X, Magneto and the other mutants will be going up against the villain Armageddon – which while in the process begins the ”grave rift” between Professor X and Magneto.
”X-Men: First Class charts the epic beginning of the X-Men saga, and reveals a secret history of famous global events. Before mutants had revealed themselves to the world, and before Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Not archenemies, they were instead at first the closest of friends, working together with other Mutants (some familiar, some new), to stop Armageddon. In the process, a grave rift between them opened, which began the eternal war between Magneto’s Brotherhood and Professor X’s X-Men.”
X-Men: First Class is set to be released June 3rd 2011, and stars Michael Fassbender as Magneto, James McAvoy as the young Professor X, Alice Eve as Emma Frost, Kevin Bacon as Sebastien Shaw, Nicholas Hoult as Beast, Caleb Landry Jones as Banshee, Lucas Till as Havok, Edi Gathegi as Darwin, Zoe Kravitz as Angel and Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique.

The first clear pictures from the set of X-Men: First Class were snapped in Oxford today showcasing James McAvoy (Charles Xavier), Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique) and Rose Byrne (Moira MacTaggert) shooting in the rain.
I really hope this film isn’t too rushed, I’m a big fan of Matthew Vaughn, the cast assembled is pretty top notch as well. I’m especially looking forward to seeing Jennifer Lawrence play Mystique, she was astonishing in Winter’s Bone, if she doesn’t get at least an Oscar nomination for that role I’ll be pissed as a whistle! Director Matthew Vaughn Has Had To Alter The X Men: First Class Script Due To Inception Similarities
Aug 3rd
Inception will make your brain hurt in the most wonderful – what the apple fudge did I just watch - kind of way. Yet after reading this Los Angeles Times article I’m sure it hurt Matthew Vaughn’s brain in a profoundly more stressful fashion. After seeing Inception, Vaughn (Kick Ass, Layer Cake, Stardust) told the Times that he decided to cut about a dozen pages of the X-Men: First Class script because some “dream-space” combat scenes in the script felt a little too similar to dream world action sequences from Inception. For a big budget action film set for release in less than a year, this doesn’t bode well.
“I saw ‘Inception,’ which I loved,” Vaughn said Monday. “But my heart sank when I saw that a few of the ideas we had were up [on the screen]. So it’s either leave it in and look as if you’re copying or change things. We completely ripped out about 12 pages of the (First Class) script and the storyboards.”
” …the jettisoned sequence was a sort of dream-space combat…the filmmaker said for the film the fight involving Professor X (James McAvoy) and some other mutants was to going to be presented with spinning rooms and other physics-bending imagery — visions that he felt drifted too close to signature moments in Inception.”

Kiss-Ass – Teaser Trailer
Nov 11th

A lot of people seemed to be hyped about this film, a few people I know who have seen parts of the film have said it’s hilarious. Kick-Ass is based on the comic by Mark Millar and John Romita Jr., telling the story of average teenager Dave Lizewski (Aaron Johnson), a comic-book fanboy who decides to take his obsession as inspiration to become a real-life superhero. As any good superhero would, he chooses a new name — Kick-Ass — assembles a suit and mask to wear, and gets to work fighting crime. There’s only one problem standing in his way: Kick-Ass has absolutely no superpowers. The Film is set to be released in the US in April, currently the there is no official release date or distributor distributor. Kick-Ass directed by Matthew Vaughn and stars Nicolas Cage, Aaron Johnson, Lyndsy Fonseca, Mark Strong, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Chloe Moretz.
