Vin Diesel To Produce & Star In ‘The Machine’
May 19th

Hot on the heels of the financial and – somewhat suprisingly – critical success of ‘Fast Five,’ Vin Diesel has lined up an action comedy project at MGM called ‘The Machine.’ According to MGM, Diesel will play “a human-like machine created in secrecy by the Pentagon as the world’s first true ultimate weapon. Twenty years after the project was buried and decommissioned for reasons unknown, The Machine is discovered by a kid who befriends him. When the government learns it has been reactivated, the Machine must protect the family harboring him.”
Diesel will produce the project with his One Race Productions. The project has no director at this moment in time however MGM say they’re planning to start filming in the fall. The script is by Thomas Lennon and Robert Ben Garant, the writers of ‘Night at the Museum’ who also worked with Diesel on his action comedy ‘The Pacifier.’ You can check out my interview with Vin Diesel for ‘Fast Five’ here. Sony Pictures & MGM To Co-Finance & Distribute ‘Bond 23′ & ‘Bond 24′ – Open To Explore Co-Financing On Future Projects
Apr 14th
Great news Bond fans, Sony Pictures Entertainment and MGM have released a press release announcing that Sony has reached an agreement with MGM to co-finance and theatrically market and distribute ‘Bond 23′ and ‘Bond 24′ worldwide, as well as exploring co-financing opportunities on future motion pictures produced by each of the respective studios for the next five years – fingers crossed this means we’ll get to see ‘Cabin in the Woods’ soon!
At this moment in time Daniel Craig and Judi Dench are confirmed to return for ‘Bond 23,’ with Sam Mendes directing. Javier Bardem and Ralph Fiennes have reportedly been offered two separate ‘darkly complex’ roles. I’ve got high hopes for this film, I’m a huge fan of Daniel Craig’s incarnation of James Bond, I LOVED Casino Royal, to a lesser degree Quantum Of Solace. ‘Bond 23′ is set for release November 9th 2012. Check out the full press release below.
Bond 23 (And Possibly The Hobbit) Delayed ‘Indefinitely’
Apr 20th

Producers Michael G Wilson and Barbara Broccoli (her name sounds like a crap cartoon characters) have issued a joint statement saying that work on the twenty-third film in the James Bond franchise – which was planned for release sometime in 2011 or 2012, has been shelved indefinitely. This most certainly means delays for The Hobbit as well, which I’m a lot more upset about if I’m honest, I’ve never been a huge James Bond fan, even though I prefer the new Daniel Craig incarnation. Hopefully MGM can get their finances in order asap and the talent surrounding both films can stick around, especially Directors Sam Mendes and Guillermo Del Toro.
‘Due to the continuing uncertainty surrounding the future of MGM and the failure to close a sale of the studio, we have suspended development on ‘Bond 23′ indefinitely. We do not know when development will resume and do not have a date for the release of ‘Bond 23.’
