Release Dates Set For ‘The Spectacular Now’ & ‘The Bling Ring’

A24 send word that they’ve set a June 14th limited theatrical release launch of the Sofia Coppola-directed (Lost in Translation, Somewhere) ’The Bling Ring,’ and a August 2nd limited release for the James Ponsoldt-directed (Smashed)’The Spectacular Now.’ Expect international release dates shortly.
Co-produced, written and directed by Sofia Coppola, ‘The Bling Ring’ is based on the true story of a group of six teenagers who over the course of a year stole up to $3 million worth of goods from celebrities such as Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, Rachel Bilson, Megan Fox and Orlando Bloom. Nancy Jo Sales’ Vanity Fair article “The Suspects Wore Louboutins” was the basis for the film. Emma Watson, Israel Broussard, Kirsten Dunst, Katie Chang, Taissa Farmiga, Carlos Miranda, Claire Pfister, Georgia Rock and Leslie Mann star.

Relativity Media has premiered this new clip and behind-the-scenes featurette for ’21 and Over,’ the upcoming comedy written and directed by ’The Hangover’ writers Jon Lucas and Scott Moore. Justin Chon (Twilight) stars in the film alongside Skylar Astin (Pitch Perfect) and Miles Teller (Footloose), with the likes of Sarah Wright, Francois Chau, Jonathan Keltz, Daniel Booko and Dustin Ybarra co-starring. ’21 and Over’ arrives in cinemas on March 1st in the US and from May 3rd in the UK.

‘The Spectacular Now’ Set For A Summer Release – Starring Miles Teller & Shailene Woodley

A24 send word that they’ve acquired North American rights to 2013 Sundance favourite, ‘The Spectacular Now.’ The James Ponsoldt (Smashed) directed film, from a script by Scott Neustadter and Michael Weber (500 Days of Summer), has become one of the darlings of the Sundance Film Festival and features breakout performances by Miles Teller (Rabbit Hole, Project X) and Shailene Woodley (The Descendants, the upcoming ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2). ‘The Spectacular Now’ co-stars the likes of Brie Larson, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Kyle Chandler and Andre Royo.
The film premiered on Friday night at Sundance in the US Dramatic Competition. A24 will release ‘The Spectacular Now’ this summer in North America. Fingers crossed a concrete date and an international release schedule is announced shortly. ‘The Spectacular Now’ was produced by Tom McNulty, Shawn Levy, Andrew Lauren, and Michelle Krumm.
