With principal photography now underway on ‘London Has Fallen,’ Millennium Films and Focus Features have revealed the full cast and synopsis for the sequel to last year’s ‘Olympus Has Fallen.’
The story begins in London, where the British Prime Minister has passed away under mysterious circumstances. His funeral is a must-attend event for leaders of the western world. However, what starts out as the most protected event on Earth turns into a deadly plot to kill the world’s most powerful leaders, devastate every known landmark in the British capital, and unleash a terrifying vision of the future. Only three people have any hope of stopping it: the President of the United States, his formidable Secret Service head (Gerard Butler), and an English MI-6 agent who rightly trusts no one.
A few hours after it was announced that Gal Gadot will get her own standalone Wonder Woman movie in 2017, THR bring word that the actress is in early negotiations for the female lead role in ‘Ben-Hur’ – Paramount and Timur Bekmambetov’s new adaptation of the 1880 Lew Wallace novel ‘Ben-Hur: A Tale Of The Christ,’ which in its time outsold every book but ‘The Bible’ until it was eclipsed by ‘Gone With The Wind.’ Jack Huston will play the title character in the film, with Morgan Freeman playing the role of Ildarin, the man who teaches Ben-Hur to become a champion-caliber chariot racer. Toby Kebbell is playing the antagonist role of Messala, and, if her deal makes, Gadot will play Esther, a slave with whom Ben-Hur is in love.
Speaking to the good people over at Hey U Guys, Michael Caine revealed that Daniel Radcliffe will be playing his son in the sequel to ‘Now You See Me.’ Caine gave the following info, “There’s a sequel to ‘Now You See Me’ and we’re shooting in London. I shoot in December, the whole of December in London, and my son is Harry Potter. I thought it’d be funny, me and Daniel Radcliffe as father and son.”
The sequel to the 2013’s ‘Now You See Me’ sees the return of Mark Ruffalo, Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Isla Fisher, Dave Franco, Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine. ‘Now You See Me’ grossed more than $350 million worldwide and displayed staying power throughout a competitive summer. The film pit an elite FBI squad in a game of cat and mouse against “The Four Horsemen,” a super-team of the world’s greatest illusionists. “The Four Horsemen” pull off a series of daring heists against corrupt business leaders during their performances, showering the stolen profits of their audiences while staying one step ahead of the law.
Director Fredrik Bond (Charlie Countryman) has departed ‘London Has Fallen,’ the sequel of the 2013 box office hit ‘Olympus Has Fallen,’ due to creative differences. THR add that this “may be a result of the movie’s accelerated schedule and Bond only coming aboard in August. One insider said prep time was a factor.” The studio is already hard at work looking for a replacement and expects to announce a new helmer within the next 72 hours.
Gerard Butler will return for the sequel written by Creighton Rothenberger, Katrin Benedikt and Christian Gudegast. The sequel begins in London, where the British Prime Minister has passed away under mysterious circumstances. His funeral is a must-attend event for leaders of the Western world. But what starts out as the most protected event on earth, turns into a deadly plot to kill the world’s most powerful leaders and unleash a terrifying vision of the future. Only three people have any hope of stopping it: the President of the United States, his formidable secret service head (Butler), and an English MI-6 agent who rightly trusts no one. Aaron Eckhart returns as the U.S. president and Morgan Freeman is reprising his role as the U.S. House of Representatives.
After being recently seen on the big screen as Koba in ‘Dawn of the Planet of the Apes,’ and having just wrapped ‘Fantastic Four’ – in which he plays the evil Doctor Doom, it looks as if Toby Kebbell is in line to play another antagonistic role. According to Variety, Kebbell – one of my favorite young actors working today – is in early talks to play Messala in Timur Bekmambetov’s new adaptation of the 1880 Lew Wallace novel ‘Ben-Hur: A Tale Of The Christ,’ which in its time outsold every book but ‘The Bible’ until it was eclipsed by ‘Gone With The Wind.’ Next up for Kebbell is ‘Buddha’s Little Finger,’ Duncan Jones’ ‘Warcraft,’ the aforementioned ‘Fantastic Four’ reboot, and Juan Antonio Bayona’s adaptation of ‘A Monster Calls.’
