Two International Posters For ‘Green Lantern’ – Starring Ryan Reynolds, Mark Strong & Tim Robbins
Apr 10th
Following on from the excellently geektastic four minutes of footage from the film that was released last week, Warner Bros have unveiled these two new Persian posters for Martin Campbell’s ‘Green Lantern.’ The film stars Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan/Green Lantern, Blake Lively, Peter Sarsgaard, Mark Strong, Jon Tenney, Geoffrey Rush and Tim Robbins. Look out for ‘Green Lantern’ in cinemas June 17th.
Bringing the enduringly popular superhero to the big screen for the first time, “Green Lantern” stars Ryan Reynolds (“X-Men Origins: Wolverine”) in the title role, under the direction of Martin Campbell (“Casino Royale”). In a universe as vast as it is mysterious, a small but powerful force has existed for centuries. Protectors of peace and justice, they are called the Green Lantern Corps. A brotherhood of warriors sworn to keep intergalactic order, each Green Lantern wears a ring that grants him superpowers. But when a new enemy called Parallax threatens to destroy the balance of power in the Universe, their fate and the fate of Earth lie in the hands of their newest recruit, the first human ever selected: Hal Jordan.
Jessica Biel To Star Opposite Colin Farrell In ‘Total Recall’?
Apr 9th
Variety have caught wind that Jessica Biel is circling one of the two lead female roles opposite Colin Farrell in Len Wiseman’s remake of ‘Total Recall.’ The project is said to be a ‘contemporized adaptation’ of the 1990 Arnold Schwarzenegger genre classic, which was based on the Philip K. Dick story, “We Can Remember It for You Wholesale”.
The two female leads in the original movie, Lori and Melina, were played by Sharon Stone and Rachel Ticotin respectively. Apparently early word was that Biel was going after Melina, however Variety now say that there’s a chance she’s going after Lori. Eva Mendes’s name has been attached to the role of Melina in the past. ‘Total Recall’ is scheduled to hit cinemas August 3rd, 2012.

Jennifer Lawrence Speaks On Playing Mystique In Matthew Vaughn’s ‘X-Men: First Class’
Apr 8th

The ‘Winter’s Bone’ Oscar nominee Jennifer Lawrence recently opened up to Totalfilm about playing the mutant shapeshifter Raven Darkholme/Mystique in Matthew Vaughn’s ‘X-Men: First Class’:
“The Mystique we know from the original X-Men is a confident, strong, powerful woman”, she told us. “But in this film she’s a kind of insecure girl, who’s discovering herself, her sexuality and her opinion of things.”
We’ll also see Mystique stray from Charles Xavier’s flock to join forces with Magneto: “It starts as a little crush [on Magneto] but then I start to like his view of the world.” Lawrence has also been familiarising herself with Mystique by getting immersed in the character’s comic-book backstory (“I’m still reading it…”) and studying Rebecca Romijn’s performance in the previous X-movies to get the physicality down: “She has a very specific walk!”
Out of all the comic book-inspired flicks released this summer, this is the one I’m looking forward to most. The cast assembled is top notch. ‘X-Men: First Class’ is set for release June 3rd 2011. The film also stars the likes of James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Rose Byrne, Nicholas Hoult, January Jones, Kevin Bacon, Caleb Landry Jones, Lucas Till, Edi Gathegi, Jason Flemyng, Oliver Platt, Morgan Lily, Zoe Kravitz and Bill Bilner.
