‘Batman: Year One’ Voice Cast Will Feature Bryan Cranson & Eliza Dushku – Two Images Released
Apr 20th
Heat Vision have announced that Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad), Ben McKenzie (The O.C., Southland), Eliza Dushku (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Dollhouse) and Katee Sackhoff (Battlestar Galactica, 24) will be lending their pipes to ‘Batman: Year One,’ the upcoming animated adaptation of Frank Miller’s 1987 classic comic title. Cranston is playing James Gordon, McKenzie is Bruce Wayne/Batman. Dushku voices Catwoman, while Sackhoff is Detective Sarah Essen, a Gordon love interest. Additionally, Alex Rocco lends his voice to the crime lord Carmine Falcone.
In Year One, a young Bruce Wayne is first starting out as a costumed vigilante. He creates an early bond with Lieutenant James Gordon, whose importance in the tale makes it as much as Gordon’s story as Wayne’s. Cranston, an Emmy winner for AMC’s Breaking Bad, says he initially turned down the chance to work on Year One, not even wanting to read the script. He blames it on his ignorance of the animation medium as well as the classic comics. “I wasn’t aware of this level of storytelling in animation. I confess that freely,” he says. “They didn’t give the characters the short shrift. I was stunned.”
‘Batman: Year One,’ is scheduled to be released on DVD and Blu-Ray in the fall but will world premiere in July at Comic-Con. Check out another image from the film below.

Before mutants had revealed themselves to the world, and before Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Not archenemies, they were instead at first the closest of friends, working together with other Mutants (some familiar, some new), to stop Armageddon. Isla Fisher To Join Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire & Carey Mulligan In Baz Luhrmann’s ‘The Great Gatsby’?
Apr 19th
TheWrap are reporting that Isla Fisher is in talks to join Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire and Carey Mulligan in Baz Luhrmann’s stalled adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s classic novel ‘The Great Gatsby.’ As previously reported Ben Affleck is also in talks to join the film.
Affleck is in discussion for the role of Tom Buchanan, the husband of Daisy Buchanan (Mulligan). Fisher is in talks for the role of Myrtle, a married woman having an affair with Buchanan. In the other lead roles DiCaprio is set to play Jay Gatsby, while Tobey Maguire is pencilled in to play Nick Carraway, the novel’s narrator and best friend to Gatbsy. ‘The Great Gatsby’ is set to start shooting in Australia in August. Check out the books synopsis below. Update: Deadline report that due to Ben Affleck’s schedule with the Tehran hostage thriller ‘Argo,’ he won’t be in ‘The Great Gatsby.’
The exemplary novel of the Jazz Age, F. Scott Fitzgeralds’ third book, The Great Gatsby (1925), stands as the supreme achievement of his career. T. S. Eliot read it three times and saw it as the “first step” American fiction had taken since Henry James; H. L. Mencken praised “the charm and beauty of the writing,” as well as Fitzgerald’s sharp social sense; and Thomas Wolfe hailed it as Fitzgerald’s “best work” thus far. The story of the fabulously wealthy Jay Gatsby and his love for the beautiful Daisy Buchanan, of lavish parties on Long Island at a time when, The New York Times remarked, “gin was the national drink and sex the national obsession,” it is an exquisitely crafted tale of America in the 1920s that resonates with the power of myth. A novel of lyrical beauty yet brutal realism, of magic, romance, and mysticism, The Great Gatsby is one of the great classics of twentieth-century literature.
