First Looks At Tom Hardy On The Set Of ‘Animal Rescue’

These first images have arrived online of Tom Hardy on the set of Michael R. Roskam’s (Bullhead) ‘Animal Rescue.’ Co-starring Noomi Rapace, Matthias Schoenaerts, James Gandolfini, John Ortiz and James Frecheville, the film focuses on a man (Tom Hardy) who wants to shed his criminal path but somehow gets mixed up in a bad heist and a killing resulting from a lost and contested pit bull. Rapace will play Nadia, a woman with a scar across her entire neck who crosses paths with the protagonist when he finds a wounded puppy outside her home.
Chernin Entertainment and Mike Larocca are producing ‘Animal Rescue,’ which author Dennis Lehane adapted from his own short story that first appeared in ‘Boston Noir.’ ‘Animal Rescue’ is shooting in New York, where Fox Searchlight is relocating the story rather than film in Massachusetts, where Lehane adaptations ‘Mystic River,’ ‘Shutter Island’ and ‘Gone Baby Gone’ all took place. Gary Oldman Joins Tom Hardy, Noomi Rapace & Joel Kinnaman In ‘Child 44

Loving this cast. Heat Vision send word that Gary Oldman is signing on to join Tom Hardy, Noomi Rapace and Joel Kinnaman in ‘Child 44,’ a Soviet-era thriller being produced by Ridley Scott and Michael Costigan. Oldman recently landed a major role in ‘Dawn of the Planet of the Apes’ and wrapped up shooting on the remake of ‘RoboCop,’ which is lead by Kinnaman as the eponymous character.
Directed by Daniel Espinosa, ‘Child 44′ is set during the 1950s and follows a member of the Soviet military police (Tom Hardy) who, while investigating a series of child murders, finds himself the target of his own government’s suspicions. Oldman will play the head of police who is acting on those suspicions. Joel Kinnaman will play Hardy’s ambitious and murderous nemesis, while Noomi Rapace is playing Hardy’s chameleon-like wife. Richard Price wrote the script adapting the Tom Rob Smith novel. The synopsis for the ‘Child 44′ novel is as follows.

Heat Vision hear that Joel Kinnaman is in negotiations to join Tom Hardy and Noomi Rapace in ‘Child 44,’ a Soviet-era thriller being produced by Ridley Scott and Michael Costigan. ‘Safe House’ helmer Daniel Espinosa is directing the film, which is set in the 1950s and follows a member of the Soviet police who, while investigating a series of child murders, finds himself the target of his own government’s suspicions. If a deal is finalized, the move would re-team Kinnaman with Espinosa, who directed him in ’Snabba Cash’ and ‘Safe House.’
Joel Kinnaman is coming off a starring turn in MGM’s remake of ‘RoboCop,’which wrapped shooting earlier this year. He is reprising his breakout role as a police detective for the third season of AMC’s thriller, ‘The Killing.’ Additionally, it was recently reported that he is set to join Liam Neeson in the Jaume Collet-Serra helmed action-film, ‘Run All Night.’

James Gandolfini is said to be in talks to join Tom Hardy, Noomi Rapace, Matthias Schoenaerts and James Frecheville in Michael R. Roskam’s (Bullhead) ‘Animal Rescue.’ Since ‘The Sopranos’ ended in 2007, Gandolfini has balanced commercial material like ‘The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3′ and the upcoming ‘The Incredible Burt Wonderstone’ with prestige projects such as David Chase’s ‘Not Fade Away’ and Sony’s ‘Zero Dark Thirty.’ He has also returned to gangsterland with his recent appearance in ‘Killing Them Softly.’

IGN has set loose this new red band trailer for ‘Dead Man Down.’ Directed by Niels Arden Oplev (the Swedish ‘Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’), ‘Dead Man Down’ follows Victor (Colin Farrell), the right hand man to an underground crime lord in New York City who is seduced and blackmailed by Beatrice (Noomi Rapace), a crime victim seeking retribution. Their intense chemistry leads them spiraling into payback delivered in violent catharsis.
Colin Farrell and Noomi Rapace are joined in the film by Terrence Howard and Dominic Cooper. Howard plays Alphonse Hoyt, a charming but brutal crime lord who is accustomed to being feared but is thrown off guard when a mysterious tormenter (Farrell) starts sabotaging his business from within and picks off his men one by one as revenge for the death of a family member. Dominic Cooper plays Darcy, Farrell’s partner on the street.
