Rachel Weisz Joining Jeremy Renner In ‘The Bourne Legacy’?
May 11th
Hot on the heels of last weeks news that Rachel Weisz is in talks to play the villainess in Sam Raimi’s Wizard Of Oz spin-off ‘Oz, The Great and Powerful,’ Deadline now hear that Weisz is in “even deeper talks” to star opposite Jeremy Renner in Universal Pictures’ latest in the Bourne franchise – ‘The Bourne Legacy.’ Apparently due to scheduling this could create a dilemma for Weisz as the Tony Gilroy-directed Bourne film starts shooting in September, while Oz is planned to go into production this summer.
In the Bourne spinoff, two-time Oscar nominee Jeremy Renner (The Hurt Locker, The Town) will play a new character: an operative from a covert government program that is even more dangerous than the Treadstone brainwashing program that hatched Bourne. In ‘Oz, The Great and Powerful’ Weisz would star alongside James Franco and Mila Kunis as Evanora, a powerful, evil witch who intends to rule the land. She is the sister of Theadora (Kunis) and tries to seduce her to the dark side.
Tony Gilroy wrote the previous three Bourne movies along with ‘The Devil’s Advocate’ and ‘Michael Clayton’ (which he also directed) – each thoroughly thumbs up worthy movies. Also to point out while the film shares a title with the book ‘The Bourne Legacy’ by Eric Van Lustbader – the first book in the series after original writer Robert Ludlum’s death – Gilroy says it’s a stand alone script that does not follow the same plot. With production on both of these films under-way in the next couple months expect an update on this story very soon.
Rachel Weisz In Talks To Join James Franco & Mila Kunis In ‘Oz, The Great and Powerful’
May 4th
THR are reporting that Oscar-winner Rachel Weisz is in talks to play the villainess in Sam Raimi’s Wizard Of Oz spin-off ‘Oz, The Great and Powerful.’ Weisz would play Evanora, a powerful, evil witch who intends to rule the land. She is the sister of Theadora (Mila Kunis) and tries to seduce her to the dark side.
The film is said to follow Oz (James Franco) as a young illusionist with a grandiose attitude who is forced to flee a travelling circus. His hot air balloon is swept up by a tornado to the land of Oz, which is inhabited by Glinda, who becomes the Good Witch of the North, and Evanorah, who becomes the Wicked Witch of the East.
‘Oz: The Great and Powerful’ is pencilled in for a 2013 release. I love the sound of the premise, which when added to the fact that I’m a humongous Sam Raimi fan pretty much means I’m sold on this flick already! Mila Kunis is set to play Theodorah, the younger sister of Evanorah who goes on to become the Wicked Witch of the West and to cackle the iconic lines “I’ll get you, my pretty … and your little dog, too!” Expect more casting news soon.
First Image From Jim Sheridan’s ‘Dream House’ – Starring Daniel Craig, Rachel Weisz & Naomi Watts
Jan 28th
The first image from Jim Sheridan’s (My Left Foot, Brothers) upcoming suspense thriller ‘Dream House’ has made it’s way online thanks to JustJared. The film features a first rate cast in Daniel Craig, Rachel Weisz, and Naomi Watts, it was originally pencilled in for a February 18th release date, however due to Universal and Sheridan wanting to do some re-shoots, mixed with Daniel Craig’s busy schedule the film is now set for release September 30th. Check out the synopsis below.
Some say that all houses have memories. For one man, his home is the place he would kill to forget. Daniel Craig, Rachel Weisz and Naomi Watts star in Dream House, a suspense thriller about a family that unknowingly moves into a home where several grisly murders were committed…only to find themselves the killer’s next target.
Successful publisher Will Atenton (Craig) quit a job in New York City to relocate his wife, Libby (Weisz), and two girls to a quaint New England town. But as they settle into their new life, they discover their perfect home was the murder scene of a mother and her children. And the entire city believes it was at the hands of the husband who survived.
The Likes Of Eva Green, Naomi Watts & Anne Hathaway Up For Two Lead Actress Roles In ‘The Dark Knight Rises’
Jan 12th

Through an anonymous source the good people over at Collider have reported that Eva Green and Naomi Watts have been cast in The Dark Knight Rises. The source doesn’t know which roles they’re playing, but believes they’ve been cast as Talia al Ghul and Vicki Vale, respectively. Talia al Ghul is the daughter of Ra’s al Ghul (played by Liam Neeson in Batman Begins) and Vicky Vale is a reporter who’s seemingly a love interest role.
In another Dark Knight Rises report Heat Vision’s sources tell the site that Keira Knightley, Anne Hathaway, Kate Mara, Charlotte Riley, Jessica Biel and possibly Gemma Arterton are due to test for roles in the Warner Bros superhero tentpole in the next two weeks. They also claim that Eva Green and Naomi Watts have not been cast in the film.
From these reports it looks like The Dark Knight Rises needs to fill two big female roles, a villain and a love interest. Both site’s are highly respected and reputable site’s so I’d pretty much guaranteed two of the names previously mentioned being in the film. It pretty much looks like for certain Talia al Ghul will be in the film.
The Dark Knight Rises has a release date of June 20th 2012 and stars Christian Bale, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman and Tom Hardy.
Christopher Nolan Looking At The Likes Of Natalie Portman, Rachel Weisz & Naomi Watts For A Love Interest & Villain Role In The Dark Knight Rises
Nov 11th

I just thought I’d put it out there that I would crawl 2 miles naked through broken glass just to hear the story of Batman 3 spoken through a walkie talkie by Stephan Hawking…………….with that out the way here’s some good news – Deadline are reporting that Christopher Nolan is meeting with Rachel Weisz, Naomi Watts, Blake Lively, Natalie Portman, Anne Hathaway and Keira Knightley for TWO female lead roles in The Dark Knight Rises. One a love interest for Bruce Wayne/Batman, and the other a villain.
Nolan is keeping the roles under wraps, just the way that he did when he drafted his Inception star Tom Hardy to come aboard to likely play a villain. Deadline broke that story October 13. I’m still not sure what the role is and I believe Hardy took the job without knowing or reading a script that’s still being tweaked.
Whatever happens I’ve got full faith in Christopher Nolan, his streak of great films is unparalleled at the moment – Memento, Insomnia, Batman Begins, The Prestige, The Dark Knight and Inception. Expect to hear more details soon. ‘The Dark Knight Rises′ has a release date of June 20th 2012 and stars Christian Bale, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman and Tom Hardy.
