Debut Trailer For Duncan Jones’ ‘Source Code’ – Starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Michelle Monaghan & Vera Farmiga
Nov 20th
What has two thumbs and is about as excited as a porcupine meeting a pineapple to see the trailer for Source Code? THIS GUY! Duncan Jones debut film ‘Moon’ was one of my highlights of 2009, it was a compelling and thoroughly thought provoking piece of work. I’ve got full faith that this could be one of 2011’s gems. Source Code stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Vera Farmiga, Michelle Monaghan, Jeffrey Wright and Russell Peters.
When decorated soldier Captain Colter Stevens (Jake Gyllenhaal) wakes up in the body of an unknown man, he discovers he’s part of a mission to find the bomber of a Chicago commuter train. In an assignment unlike any he’s ever known, he learns he’s part of a government experiment called the “Source Code,” a program that enables him to cross over into another man’s identity in the last 8 minutes of his life. With a second, much larger target threatening to kill millions in downtown Chicago, Colter re-lives the incident over and over again, gathering clues each time, until he can solve the mystery of who is behind the bombs and prevent the next attack. Filled with mind-boggling twists and heart-pounding suspense, Source Code is a smart action-thriller directed by Duncan Jones (Moon) also starring Michelle Monaghan (Eagle Eye, Due Date), Vera Farmiga (Up in the Air, The Departed), and Jeffrey Wright (Quantum of Solace, Syriana).
Synopsis, First Official Image & Poster For Pixar’s Cars 2 *UPDATED*
Nov 15th
The good folks over at Pixar have debuted this first official image and synopsis for their latest movie Cars 2. Pixar is a name synonymous with quality, they know how to make animated films like no other – you can count me in already! I will say that the original Cars movie was the only Pixar flick that didn’t bowl me over though, it may not be Pixar’s best, but it was still a top notch movie. Cars 2 will be hitting cinemas July 22nd 2011 in the UK. and June 24th 2011 in the US.
Star racecar Lightning McQueen (voice of Owen Wilson) and the incomparable tow truck Mater (voice of Larry the Cable Guy) take their friendship to exciting new places in “Cars 2” when they head overseas to compete in the first-ever World Grand Prix to determine the world’s fastest car. But the road to the championship is filled with plenty of potholes, detours and hilarious surprises when Mater gets caught up in an intriguing adventure of his own: international espionage. Torn between assisting Lightning McQueen in the high-profile race and towing the line in a top-secret spy mission, Mater’s action-packed journey leads him on an explosive chase through the streets of Japan and Europe, trailed by his friends and watched by the whole world. Adding to the fast-paced fun is a colorful new all-car cast that includes secret agents, menacing villains and international racing competitors.
John Lasseter returns to the driver’s seat to direct this follow-up to his 2006 Golden Globe®-winning “Cars.” “Cars 2” is co-directed by Brad Lewis, producer of the Oscar®-winning film “Ratatouille,” and produced by visual effects industry veteran Denise Ream (associate producer, “Up”; visual effects executive producer, “Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith”).
New Poster For ‘Season of the Witch’ – Starring Nicolas Cage & Ron Perlman
Nov 11th
Season of the Witch, the long delayed supernatural thriller starring Nicolas Cage has found itself a new poster in time for it’s January 7th 2011 release. The numerous delays haven’t instilled a great amount of hope in me for this film (it was originally scheduled for a March 19th 2010 release), the trailer wasn’t exactly the most confidence inducing thing I’ve seen either. I do love Nicolas Cage though, he’s always entertaining, even in bad movies he cracks me up. Season of the Witch also stars Ron Perlman, Stephen Campbell Moore, Robert Sheehan, Claire Foy, Ulrich Thomsen, Stephen Graham and Christopher Lee.
In the supernatural thriller Season of the Witch, Nicolas Cage stars as a 14th century Crusader who returns with his comrade (Ron Perlman) to a homeland devastated by the Black Plague. A beleaguered church, deeming sorcery the culprit of the plague, commands the two knights to transport an accused witch (Claire Foy) to a remote abbey, where monks will perform a ritual in hopes of ending the pestilence.
A priest (Stephen Campbell Moore), a grieving knight (Ulrich Thomsen), an itinerant swindler (Stephen Graham) and a headstrong youth who can only dream of becoming a knight (Robert Sheehan) join a mission troubled by mythically hostile wilderness and fierce contention over the fate of the girl. When the embattled party arrives at the abbey, a horrific discovery jeopardizes the knight’s pledge to ensure the girl fair treatment, and pits them against an inexplicably powerful and destructive force.

The full synopsis for Duncan Jones upcoming film ‘Source Code’, has made it’s way online courtesy of the American Film Market and Collider. Jones debut film Moon was one of my highlights of 2009, it was a compelling and thoroughly thought provoking piece of work. I’ve got full faith that this could be one of 2011’s gems.
The short synopsis for the film is as follows – ‘A soldier (Jake Gyllenhaal) becomes part of an experimental government program that is investigating a train bombing. He is forced to relive the incident over and over again until he can find out who is responsible and how to prevent the next terrorist attack from occurring.’ If wanna check out the full synopsis have a butchers below, be warned though, it is a bit spoilerish! Source Code also stars Vera Farmiga, Michelle Monaghan, Jeffrey Wright and Russell Peters.
Captain Colter Stevens (Jake Gyllenhaal) wakes with a jolt to find himself on a commuter train heading into Chicago. Although the other passengers all seem to know him, he has absolutely no idea where—or even who—he is. The last thing Colter remembers is flying a helicopter mission in Iraq, but here he is in someone else’s life going through someone else’s morning commute. Before he can do anything an express train zooms by on the opposite track and a bomb explodes, seemingly killing Colter and all the other passengers.
Colter comes to in an isolation chamber, strapped to a seat, and wearing his military flight suit. He still has no idea what’s happening, except that he’s being spoken to by mission controller Carol Goodwin (Vera Farmiga), who calmly recites a series of memory questions to which Colter is shocked to realize he knows the answers. He learns he’s part of an operation called “Beleaguered Castle,” but before he can progress any further, Goodwin starts up the machinery and suddenly…Colter is back on the train, at exactly the same time he first appeared there, once again speeding through Chicago with the same group of commuters. Colter figures he’s in some kind of simulation exercise, with his task being to find the bomber onboard the train before it goes off again. Living the explosion over and over, Colter must uncover the identity of the bomber, while also figuring out what the alternative universe of “Beleaguered Castle” is. Adding to the puzzle, Colter uses the second chance opportunities to make peace with his father, and to find romance with a fellow passenger on the train.
Dan Ayrkroyd Gives Some Information About The Endless Saga Of Ghostbusters 3
Oct 8th

While Dan Ayrkroyd has been doing the promotional rounds for his new Crystal Head Vodka (yes I’m serious), he sat down with Vanity Fair and spoke a little about the eternal saga of Ghostbusters 3. In the interview Ayrkroyd reveals that he has taken over writing duties from The Office (US) writer/producers Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg – the pair who Bill Murray recently gave some thumbs down worthy comments about in an interview with GQ Magazine. Check out what Akyroyd says in reaction to Murray’s comments and his thoughts on Ghostbusters 3.
“I think he was concerned that the writing on Ghostbusters 3 by these guys would not be up to standard, but I can tell you firsthand, I’m working on the script now and those two—Stupnitsky and Eisenberg, [writer-producers of The Office]—wrote Bill the comic role of a lifetime, and the new Ghostbusters and the old are all well represented in it. We have a strong first draft that Harold [Ramis] and I will take back, and I’m very excited about working on it.”
”Look, Hollywood is in love with any kind of nostalgia that can prove itself to be commercial. But it has to evolve. Now [in Ghostbusters 3] my character’s eyesight is shot, I got a bad knee, a bad hip—I can’t drive that caddy anymore or lift that Psychotron Accelerator anymore, it’s too heavy. We need young legs, new minds—new Ghostbusters; so I’m in essence passing the torch to the new regime, and you know what? That’s totally okay with me.”
I really like what Aykroyd had to say in this interview, it’s intilled in me a lot more optimism about the potential Ghostbusters 3 movie. I never felt at ease with new screenwriters taking over writing duties from Aykroyd and Ramis, the pair who’s idea the whole franchise was in the first place. Also to point out I’ve got so much strictly heterosexual love for Bill Murray, he doesn’t give a flying fudge muffins, he just says it how it is. I still can’t see this film being made in the next 24877 decades though, no matter what Aykroyd says!

The first image from Duncan Jones’ upcoming film Source Code has been released online via Film Source Code Blog . The image is not the best quality because it’s scanned from Empire Magazine’s latest issue -which also reveals a March 11th, 2011 release date for the film.
Jones debut film Moon was definitely one of my highlights of 2009, it was a compelling and thoroughly thought provoking piece of work. I’m fully on board with this. I know a couple people who have read the script and they have given me nothing but great feedback. Here’s the short synopsis for the film – A soldier (Gyllenhaal) becomes part of an experimental government program that is investigating a train bombing. He is forced to relive the incident over and over again until he can find out who is responsible and how to prevent the next terrorist attack from occurring. Source Code also stars Vera Farmiga, Michelle Monaghan, Jeffrey Wright and Russell Peters. Check out some snippets of what Duncan Jones had to say about Source Code to Empire.
Duncan Jones tells Empire ‘On this one I’ve got four really talented actors – Jake Gyllenhaal, Michelle Monaghan, Vera Farmiga, Jeffrey Wright. It’s a new test, a new experience…’
Duncan describes Jake Gyllenhaal’s character briefly as ‘a military man who wakes up on a train not knowing how he got there. Before he gets a chance to work it out, things change in such a dramatic way, he doesn’t know whether the train’s real or not…When it was brought to me it was serious, quite cerebral, dark and depressing, My take was, “This could actually be quite fun…”‘
