Will Smith is reportedly in talks to star in the untitled drama based on the GQ article “Game Brain” for Scott Free and Sony Pictures, which will tackle the NFL’s concussion problem. ‘Parkland’ director Peter Landesman is on board to write and direct the film while Giannina Facio, Ridley Scott and Michael Schaefer will produce for Scott Free, and David Wolthoff and Larry Shuman will produce for the Shuman Company.
Alcon Entertainment have issued a press release announcing that an offer is out to Harrison Ford to reprise his celebrated role of Rick Deckard in the Ridley Scott-directed sequel to ‘Blade Runner.’ Hampton Fancher (co-writer of the 1982 adaptation) and Michael Green are the film’s screenwriters.
While the story is being kept under wraps, it takes place several decades after the conclusion of the 1982 original.
Alcon co-founders and co-CEOs Andrew Kosove and Broderick Johnson state, “We believe that Hampton Fancher and Michael Green have crafted with Ridley Scott an extraordinary sequel to one of the greatest films of all time. We would be honored, and we are hopeful, that Harrison will be part of our project.”
Ridley Scott In Talks To Direct Matt Damon In ‘The Martian'; Issues A Statement About The Passing Of H.R. Giger
Ridley Scott is said to be in negotiations to direct 20th Century Fox’s ‘The Martian,’ a much buzzed about project that Drew Goddard recently pulled out of due to his commitments with his Spider-Man spinoff ‘The Sinister Six’ and ‘Daredevil’ series. Based on the e-book by Andy Weir and adapted by Goddard, ‘The Martian’ follows an astronaut (Matt Damon) who becomes stranded on Mars and must figure out how to survive long enough to return to Earth. The film is being described as a cross between ‘Apollo 13′ and ‘Cast Away.’
Out and about on the promotional rounds for ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ (look out for my own interviews for the film this coming week), Michael Fassbender confirmed to the fine folks over at Collider that a ‘Prometheus 2′ is happening. Asked if he was looking forward to working with Ridley Scott on the sequel, Fassbender replied, “For sure. I love Ridley. He’s a master filmmaker,” at which point James McAvoy, who was also part of the interview, turned to Oscar nominated ’12 Years a Slave’ actor and asked, “Are you doing a sequel?” Fassbender turned to his X-Men co-star and replied, “Yeah, but when I don’t know.” Check out the exchange after the jump.
Hot on the heels of last week’s announcement that 20th Century Fox has set a mystery Ridley Scott film for March 4th, 2016, The Wrap bring word that the project in question is a sequel to 2012’s ‘Prometheus.’ Additionally, after working with Scott on a new ‘Blade Runner’ movie, veteran scribe Michael Green has been hired to rewrite the untitled ‘Prometheus’ sequel. Jack Paglen (Transcendence) wrote the original draft of the screenplay. An insider told the outlet that production is scheduled to start this fall, after Scott has delivered his Christian Bale-starring Moses movie ‘Exodus.’
This first officially released image has arrived online of Christian Bale as Moses in Ridley Scott’s Biblical epic, ‘Exodus.’ Also starring Joel Edgerton, Aaron Paul, Sigourney Weaver, Ben Kingsley, John Turturro and Indira Varma, the film hits cinemas on December 5th, 2014. The project picked up steam earlier this year when Steve Zaillian (Schindler’s List, American Gangster, The Girl with Dragon Tattoo) came aboard to re-write the script. Adam Cooper and Bill Collage penned a previous draft.
Moses was found, traditional has it, as a baby in the bullrushes, abandoned by a desperate mother when the then-Pharaoh ordered the murder of male newborns among his slaves. Found by the Pharaoh’s daughter, he was raised with the royals, alongside the future Rhamses II (Joel Edgerton). But a burning bush speaking with the voice of his people’s god convinced Moses to lead the Israelite slaves to freedom and a 40-year trek through the desert.
