Darren Aronofsky apparently has his eyes on Russell Crowe for the title role in his epically-scaled retelling of the biblical story ‘Noah,’ according to Deadline. Additionally, Aronofsky is said to be interested in offering another part to Liam Neeson, which is currently unspecified. ‘Noah’ would be Aronofsky’s follow up effort to the Oscar-nominated and hugely profitable ‘Black Swan,’ which grossed $315 million worldwide on a $12 million budget. Talking about the project, Aronofsky had the following to say in the past: “Since I was a kid, I have been moved and inspired by the story of Noah and his family’s journey. The imaginations of countless generations have sparked to this epic story of faith. It’s my hope that I can present a window into Noah’s passion and perseverance for the silver screen.”

I’ve got extremely high hopes for this film, this project has been one Aronofsky’s been developing since his teens. The premise and sheer ambition of ‘Noah’ has me stoked. Aronofsky is the man behind some of my favourite films of the last twelve years in ‘The Wrestler,’ ‘The Fountain,’ ‘Requiem for a Dream,’ ‘Pi’ and ‘Black Swan’ – fingers crossed ‘Noah’ adds to that list. The film is to start production in the summer, for a fall 2013 release. John Logan (Gladiator, The Aviator) is set to rewrite the script by Aronofsky and Ari Handel, while Aronofsky and Scott Franklin will produce the film.

The Daily Mail has posted these first images of Russell Crowe as Jor-El, Superman’s Kryptonian father, on the set of  Zack Snyder’s upcoming ‘Superman: Man of Steel.’ The film also stars Henry Cavill as Superman/Clark Kent, Amy Adams as the plucky journalist Lois Lane, Michael Shannon as General Zod, Antje Traue as Faora, Laurence Fishburn as Perry White, Ayelet Zureras as Superman’s Kryptonian mother Lara Lor-Van, Kevin Costner as Superman/Clarke’s adoptive father Jonathan Kent, and Diane Lane, who plays his wife Martha. If you were wondering what director Tom Hooper would follow up his multiple Academy Award winning drama ‘The King’s Speech’ with, look no further as Deadline have revealed that a December 7th, 2012 release date has been set for Hooper’s live-action adaptation of Victor Hugo’s 1862 novel and the stage musical ‘Les Miserables.’ Additionally Deadline bring word that Russell Crowe will be starring as the misguided Javert opposite Hugh Jackman’s Jean Valjean – Jackson had been linked to the project for some time.

This seemed to be in the cards when 20th Century Fox pushed back ‘Wolverine 2′ until at least the spring. The delay gives Jackman a chance to make ‘Les Miserables,’ a film that will likely feature in the 2013 Oscar race, and then reprise the role he originated in X-Men. Warner Bros Pictures have today announced that Zack Snyder’s Superman flick ‘Man of Steel’ will be released in cinemas June 14th, 2013 and not in December 2012 as was previously billed. The film stars Henry Cavill as Superman/Clark Kent, Amy Adams as the plucky journalist Lois Lane, Michael Shannon as General Zod,  Antje Traue as Faora, Russell Crowe as Superman’s biological father Jor-El, Kevin Costner as Superman/Clarke’s adoptive father Jonathan Kent, and Diane Lane, who plays his wife Martha.

“With production set to start next month, Jor-El was one of the last roles to cast, though they also are looking for a big name to play Superman’s biological mother Brando was 54 when he appeared in Richard Donner’s 1978 classic; Crowe is 47. Empire have unveiled this great new UK poster for the forthcoming Paul Haggis film ‘The Next Three Days ‘. I attended a screening for this a few weeks back now, however considering I signed a non disclosure embargo these are my thoughts on the film_______________________________very________Russell Crowe____________________! *I enjoyed it*.

The Next Three Days is a remake of the French thriller ”Anything for Her” from writer/director Paul Haggis. After winning the Best Picture Oscar for Crash five years ago, Haggis directed In the Valley of Elah, and also co-wrote both Clint Eastwood’s Flags of Our Fathers and Letters from Iwo Jima, as well as the last two Bond pictures. The Next Three Days features an outstanding cast in Russell Crowe, Elizabeth Banks, Olivia Wilde, Liam Neeson, Jonathan Tucker, Brian Dennehy, RZA and Sean Huze. The Next Three Days is set for release in the US on November 19th, and the UK January 7th, 2011.
