James Cameron’s Avatar 2 & Avatar 3 Shot Together – Released December 2014 & December 2015?
Jan 24th

Considering Avatar is currently the highest grossing movie of all time (taking in nearly $2.8 billion at the worldwide box office ), the top-selling Blu-ray disc of all time and was nominated for nine Academy Awards, it was always sooner rather than later that James Cameron would to add to the magical world he created. In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly Cameron talked about the two upcoming sequels, Avatar 2 and Avatar 3, which are aiming for release December 2014 and December 2015 respectively:
“I am in the process of writing the next two Avatar films now. We are planning to shoot them together and post them together, and we will probably release them not quite back to back, but about a year apart. Christmas ’14 and ’15 is the current plan.”
Cameron also notes that we’ll see some familiar faces return: “Basically, if you survived the first film, you get to be in the second film, at least in some form,” say the director. One thing’s for sure: some percentage of the presumably-massive Avatar sequel gross will go to charity. “Fox has partnered with me to donate a chunk of the profits to environmental causes that are at the heart of the Avatar world,” says the director. “I didn’t want to make more Avatar movies without a grander plan in place.”
Toby Kebbell, Hayley Atwell & Bill Nighy Set For Roles In ‘Wrath Of The Titans’ (Clash Of The Titans 2)
Jan 7th
Hot on the heels of today’s story that Edgar Ramirez is in final negotiations to star in the sequel to 2010′s Clash of the Titans, Wrath of the Titans, The Wrap are reporting that Hayley Atwell along with Clemence Poesy, Janet Montgomery, Georgina Haig and Dominique McElligott are on the shortlist of actresses testing for the role of Andromeda – who was played by Alexa Davalos in the first film.
Toby Kebbell is purportedly on the verge of accepting an offer to play Agenor, the King of Tyre and son of Poiseden and Libya, while Bill Nighy is being courted to play Hephaestus, the blacksmith of the gods and lame son of Zeus and Hera.
I guess this is all good news. I’m a massive fan of Toby Kebbell, he’s among my favourite youngish actors working today. One thing that has left me slightly confuzzled from this report is why they are recasting Andromeda? I guess we’ll be hearing about that soon. Battle: Los Angeles director Jonathan Liebesman is on board to direct the new sequel, while Sam Worthington, Liam Neeson, Ralph Fiennes and Gemma Arteron are set to return.
Edgar Ramirez Set To Join ‘Wrath Of The Titans’ The Upcoming Sequel To ‘Clash Of The Titans’
Jan 7th

Those astute insiders over at Deadline have reported that the Domino, Vantage Point, Bourne Ultimatum and Carlos star Edgar Ramirez is in final negotiations to play Ares, the God of War, in the sequel to 2010′s 3D hit Clash of the Titans, Wrath of the Titans:
I’m told he’s on the verge of making a deal to star opposite Sam Worthington. Ramirez got Golden Globes and SAG Award nominations for his breakout performance as terrorist Carlos the Jackal in the five and one-half hour Olivier Assayas-directed biopic Carlos. Unfortunately, Ramirez won’t be in Oscar contention, the film deemed ineligible because it aired on the Sundance Channel before it was released in theaters by IFC.
Ramirez gave arguably the most multi layered and supreme performance of 2010 in Carlos. Battle: Los Angeles director Jonathan Liebesman is on board to direct the new sequel, while Sam Worthington, Liam Neeson, Ralph Fiennes and Gemma Arteron are set to return. Javier Bardem and James Franco are rumoured to be joining the cast.
Sam Worthington Promises A Better Clash Of The Titans With Its Sequel
Dec 20th
I’m pretty sure that it’s universally accepted that Clash Of The Titans was a bit of a turd disappointment. In an interview with Moviefone the star of that film, Sam Worthington, kept it as honest as frank and admitted that it wasn’t up to scratch, he also promises an improvement with the sequel:
“I think we can improve [on Clash],” Worthington told Moviefone. “I totally agree the first one let people down, and what the writers, the director and myself are setting out to do with this one is improve. I want to take all the notes I’ve been reading on the net, and try to give people a movie they fucking want.”
“The only point of doing a sequel is either that the audience demands it or you believe you can better the first one,” he continues. “If the audience is speaking, it’s like the old gladiator thing: they give us the thumbs up or the thumbs down. We want to stay alive in that coliseum as long as we can.”
Battle: Los Angeles director Jonathan Liebesman is on board to direct the new sequel ‘Wrath Of The Titans’, while Worthington, Liam Neeson, Ralph Fiennes and Gemma Arteron are set to return. Javier Bardem and James Franco are rumoured to be joining the cast. Warner Bros. have pencilled in a March 30th, 2012 release date for ‘Wrath Of The Titans’ .
