Well, this is awesome. According to The Daily Mail columnist Baz Bamigboye, two-time Academy Award winner Christoph Waltz is set to play the villain in the tentatively titled ‘Bond 24.’ This report follows on from the news that ‘Blue is the Warmest Color’ and ‘Inglourious Basterds’ star Léa Seydoux has signed up to play the “femme fatale” in the film, while Dave Bautista will play an imposing henchman opposite the returning Daniel Craig, Léa Seydoux, Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, Ben Whishaw. The 24th James Bond film is set for release in UK cinemas on October 23th, 2015 and in US cinemas on November 6th, 2015.
Latino-Review are reporting that Dave Bautista, who was absolutely fantastic as Drax in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy,’ has signed on to play a henchman named (or code named) Hinx in the tentatively titled ‘Bond 24.’ Back in August, the following casting breakdown leaked and stated that ‘Bond 24′ producers were looking for an iconic Bond villain in the mold of Jaws and Oddjob: “Hinx (Male, 30 – 45). Ideally over 6? 2?. Hinx is the main henchman/assassin. We are looking for an imposing extremely physically fit actor. He has several fights with Bond and will have to have stunt training. He has to drive. We are looking for someone very unusual, possibly from a sports background. Height: 180cm – 195cm”
This report follows on from the news that ‘Blue is the Warmest Color’ and ‘Inglourious Basterds’ star Léa Seydoux has signed up to play the “femme fatale” in ‘Bond 24,’ which starts filming in six weeks. Seydoux will meet fellow cast members, led by Daniel Craig, Ralph Fiennes, Ben Whishaw and Naomie Harris, for a script rehearsal in late November. The 24th James Bond film is set for release in UK cinemas on October 23th, 2015 and in US cinemas on November 6th, 2015. Filming begins from early December.

‘Her’, ‘Let The Right One In’ & ‘Interstellar’ Cinematographer Hoyte Van Hoytema To Replace Roger Deakins On ‘Bond 24′
While three of the key ingredients for enormous success of ‘Skyfall’ have been confirmed for its untitled follow-up (director Sam Mendes, writer John Logan and lead Daniel Craig), cinematographer Roger Deakins won’t be returning for the latest 007 adventure. Hitfix’s Kristopher Tapley revealed back in February, “At dinner with Deakins last night I learned some news that makes me sad: He won’t be shooting the next Bond.” No reason was given for Deakins not returning for ‘Bond 24,’ but I believe it would be safe to assume that scheduling is the likeliest culprit, as Deakins is one of the most in-demand cinematographers around – and he might just be at the top of my “how-the-hell-does-this-guy-not-have-an-Oscar” list considering his incredible work on the likes of ‘Skyfall,’ ‘Shawshank Redemption,’ ‘No Country for Old Men,’ ‘Fargo’ and especially ‘The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford,’ for me the most beautifully shot film in modern cinema history.
According to a new report from the Daily Mail, long time James Bond screenwriters Neal Purvis and Robert Wade have come on board to polish John Logan’s script for ‘Bond 24.’ I wouldn’t usually hold any credence to what the Daily Mail report in print or on their website, however, writer Baz Bamigboye has a decent track record with his movie news. He adds that because of this reported screenwriter reshuffle, filming has been delayed on ‘Bond 24′ until December (the movie previously was previously set to begin filming in October). ‘Bond 24′ was being written solely by Oscar-nominated John Logan, after he was brought in by director Sam Mendes to pen the last picture, ‘Skyfall.’
The story goes on to say that Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, who penned ‘The World Is Not Enough,’ ‘Die Another Day,’ ‘Casino Royale,’ and ‘ Quantum Of Solace,’ have been asked to ‘punch up’ the script and sprinkle in more gags, emphasizing the witty dynamic between Daniel Craig’s 007 and Naomie Harris’s Miss Moneypenny, and focusing on the interplay between Bond and Ralph Fiennes’s M. To date, the likes of Chiwetel Ejiofor and Penelope Cruz have been linked to the film – although nothing has been confirmed.
Last summer it was first rumored that Penelope Cruz is set to appear in the tentatively titled ‘Bond 24′; following in the footsteps of her husband, Javier Bardem, who played the Bond villain in ‘Skyfall.’ Today, France’s Premiere magazine (via The Playlist) noticed that in a recent release schedule update from Sony, Cruz was listed in the cast alongside Daniel Craig, Ralph Fiennes and Naomie Harris. While this could be a mistake, with filming to commence this summer I’m sure we’ll be hearing some concrete news about the cast of ‘Bond 24′ shortly. Just last Friday it was rumored that Oscar nominee Chiwetel Ejiofor is the top choice to play 007′s nemesis in the next James Bond pic.
‘Skyfall’ helmer Sam Mendes will again direct while John Logan is writing the script. ‘Bond 24′ is set for release in UK cinemas on October 23th, 2015 and in US cinemas from November 6th, 2015. The previous 007 flick, ‘Skyfall,’ took in $1.1 billion worldwide and set a new mark as the highest-grossing film of all time in the UK; it was the best-selling Bond film on DVD/Blu-ray and was the most critically acclaimed film in the history of the longest-running film franchise.
