The Daily Mail has released this first full theatrical trailer for Phyllida Lloyd’s (Mamma Mia!) ’The Iron Lady,’ which stars Meryl Streep as that mean spirited, all around cow, evil empress of Great Britain, former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. ‘The Iron Lady’ tells the story of “Thatcher, a woman who smashed through the barriers of gender and class to be heard in a male-dominated world. The story concerns power and the price that is paid for power, and is a surprising and intimate portrait of an extraordinary and complex woman.”
Alexandra Roach and Harry Lloyd will portray the Thatchers in their younger years, Jim Broadbent will play Denis Thatcher. Olivia Colman, Nicholas Farrell, Susan Brown, Roger Allam, Anthony Head, Julian Wadham, Pip Torrens, Nick Dunning, Richard E. Grant, David Westhead, Angus Wright and John Sessions are also among the bumper supporting cast for the biopic. ‘The Iron Lady’ is scheduled for release December 16th in the US and January 6th in the UK.

Yahoo! Movies have unveiled this majestic teaser trailer for Luc Besson’s (La Femme Nikita, The Fifth Element) upcoming biopic about pro-democracy icon and Nobel Peace Prize winner Aung San Suu Kyi, starring Michelle Yeoh as Aung. Aung San Suu Kyi became an icon for democratic freedom after she spent 15 of the last 21 years under house arrest in Burma after leading the National League for Democracy in an election victory over the ruling military junta in 1990. I’ve got incredibly high hopes for this film, words can’t begin to describe my admiration for Aung San Suu Kyi. Look out for the film later this year.
The Lady is the extraordinary story of Aung San Suu Kyi (Michelle Yeoh) and her husband, Michael Aris (David Thewlis). It is also the story of the peaceful quest of the woman who is at the core of Burma‟s democracy movement. Despite distance, long separations, and a dangerously hostile regime, their love endures until the very end. It‟s a story of devotion and human understanding set against a backdrop of political turmoil that continues today. The Lady was written over a period of three years by Rebecca Frayn. Interviews with key figures in Aung San Suu Kyi‟s entourage enabled her to reconstruct for the first time the true story of Burma‟s national heroine.

In a somewhat surprising move, Paramount Pictures and Marvel Studios have unveiled the final scene of ‘Captain America: The First Avenger,’ and a fantastic preview teaser for ‘The Avengers.’ ‘Captain America: The First Avenger’ is out in cinemas now, ‘The Avengers’ hits cinemas May 3rd, 2012. Check out my interviews for ‘Captain America: The First Avenger’ here: Chris Evans, Hayley Atwell, Sebastian Stan and a group interview with Derek Luke, Kenneth Choi and Sebastian Stan.
CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER will focus on the early days of the Marvel Universe when Steve Rogers volunteers to participate in an experimental program that turns him into the Super Soldier known as Captain America. Born during the Great Depression, Steve Rogers grew up a frail youth in a poor family. Horrified by the newsreel footage of the Nazis in Europe, Rogers was inspired to enlist in the army. However, because of his frailty and sickness, he was rejected. Overhearing the boy’s earnest plea, General Chester Phillips offered Rogers the opportunity to take part in a special experiment… Operation: Rebirth. After weeks of tests, Rogers was at last administered the Super-Solider Serum and bombarded by “vita-rays.” Steve Rogers emerged from the treatment with a body as perfect as a body can be and still be human. Rogers was then put through an intensive physical and tactical training program. Three months later, he was given his first assignment as Captain America. Armed with his indestructible shield and battle savvy, Captain America has continued his war against evil both as a sentinel of liberty and as leader of the Avengers.

This slightly odd teaser trailer has arrived online for Phyllida Lloyd’s (Mamma Mia!) ’The Iron Lady,’ which stars Meryl Streep as that mean spirited, all around cow, evil empress of Great Britain, former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. I’m not quite sure about this trailer, it’s slightly too cartoonish for my liking, especially considering how divisive a figure Margaret Thatcher is. ‘The Iron Lady’ tells the story of “Thatcher, a woman who smashed through the barriers of gender and class to be heard in a male-dominated world. The story concerns power and the price that is paid for power, and is a surprising and intimate portrait of an extraordinary and complex woman.”

The Autobots Bumblebee, Ratchet, Ironhide and Sideswipe led by Optimus Prime, are back in action, taking on the evil Decepticons, who are determined to avenge their defeat in 2009’s Transformers Revenge of the Fallen. In this new movie, the Autobots and Decepticons become involved in a perilous space race between the U.S. and Russia, and once again human Sam Witwicky has to come to the aid of his robot friends. There’s new characters too, including a new villain in the form of Shockwave, a longtime “Transformers” character who rules Cybertron while the Autobots and Decepticons battle it out on Earth.
