Mark Ruffalo Speaks On A Stand-Alone Hulk Movie: “The Next Time You See My Hulk It Will Be In ‘The Avengers 2′”
Mar 7th
In the next three years, Marvel Studios has a lot in store for fans with their wave of “Phase two” films: ‘Iron Man 3′ and ‘Thor: The Dark World’ in 2013, ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ and ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ in 2014, and the tentatively titled ’The Avengers 2′ in 2015. With rumours circulating that Marvel are planning a stand-alone Hulk movie, Mark Ruffalo has took to Twitter account to say there are no plans right now. “A lot of folks have been asking about the Next Hulk. The next time you see my Hulk it will be in the Avengers2. No plans for stand alone,” Ruffalo said. “I am not giving up on another stand alone HULK. But it’s not in the works right now. One never knows what the future will bring.”
The official line-up for Marvel’s “Phase Two” includes ‘Iron Man 3′ this summer, ‘Thor: The Dark World’ on November 8th, ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ on April 4th, 2014, ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ on August 1st, 2014 and, finally, ‘The Avengers 2′ on May 1st, 2015. I personally would love to see a Hulk movie, especially given that, for me, Mark Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner/Hulk was the stand-out character in ‘The Avengers.’ Also, remember Ruffalo is contractually obligated for six Marvel films; a Ruffalo Hulk movie is happening – it’s just a matter of when. Marvel kicks off its “Phase Three” of movies with Edgar Wright’s long awaited ‘Ant-Man.’ While details on ‘Ant-Man’ are currently under lock and key, the script for the film is co-written by Wright and Joe Cornish. ‘Ant-Man’ is set for November, 2015.

Coinciding with an Academy Award nomination for “Best Visual Effects”, this new behind-the-scenes featurette for Marvel’s ‘The Avengers’ has arrived online showcasing how the magicians over at Industrial Light and Magic built a digital New York. Industrial Light and Magic provide the following description for the video: “Although roughly a third of “The Avengers” is set in New York City precious little was actually filmed there. ILM crew members photographed 7-miles of city streets from a variety of heights and at different times of day totaling 250,000 images. The crew then digitally recreated roughly 20 square blocks of mid-town Manhattan using a variety of techniques. Live action shoots were held primarily on sound stages in New Mexico and in the streets of Cleveland.”
‘The Avengers’ competition for the “Best Visual Effects” Academy Award are ‘Prometheus,’ ‘Life of Pi,’ ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’ and ‘The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.’ ‘The Avengers’ is sitting comfortably at #3 on the all-time world box office list with a hefty haul of $1,511,757,910 billion – trailing only James Cameron’s ’Titanic’ ($2.185 billion) and ‘Avatar’ ($2.782 billion).

‘The Avengers’ Concept Art Revealed & Discussed For Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye
Sep 22nd
Coinciding with the eagerly awaited Digital Download, Blu-ray, Blu-ray 3D and DVD release of ‘The Avengers,’ Marvel has posted an interesting interview with concept artist Andy Park, talking about Hawkeye’s (Jeremy Renner) costume in ‘The Avengers.’ Park also designed fellow S.H.I.E.L.D. agents Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders), and Director Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) on ‘The Avengers,’ giving him an advantage in making sure that Hawkeye’s cinematic look meshed well with his compatriots.
Considering that we had only seen Hawkeye briefly in Marvel’s ‘Thor,’ he was the one Avengers character whose costume we had not seen previously to ‘The Avengers.’ Andy Park talked about being in charge of the one hero in the film being introduced to audiences for the first time, “Hawkeye was one character where it wasn’t given to me from the get go. Charlie [Wen], Ryan [Meinerding] and I tackled it and we spent a week or two coming up with designs for Hawkeye, but we did know that it wasn’t going to be purple. We knew it would be more practical and not so super hero-like. Initially, they liked a version that Ryan did and from there I took over to expand on it, and kind of came up with the look for Hawkeye.”
