First Image Of The Dwarves Oin & Gloin In Peter Jackson’s ‘The Hobbit’
Jul 9th
Following yesterdays look at Jed Brophy as Nori, Adam Brown as Ori and Mark Hadlow as Dori, Yahoo have today provided us with our first peak at John Callen as Oin and Peter Hambleton as Gloin in Peter Jackson’s upcoming two-part “The Hobbit” feature film adaptation. Both films are set in Middle-earth 60 years before J.R.R. Tolkien’s “The Lord of the Rings,” which Jackson and his filmmaking team brought to the big screen in the fantastic blockbuster trilogy that culminated with the Oscar®-winning “The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King.” ‘The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey,’ has been pencilled in for a December 14th, 2012 release date. ‘The Hobbit: There and Back Again’ will hit cinemas December 13th, 2013. Check out the character description provided for the duo below.
Distant cousins of Thorin Oakenshield, these two doughty Northern Dwarves join the Company out of a sense of loyalty to their kin, and also because they have a substantial sum of money invested in the venture. Along with Bombur, Gloin is the only other married Dwarf in the Company (there being a shortage of female dwarves in general). His wife is an acclaimed beauty with a particularly fine beard. Gloin is the proud father of a young son, Gimli, who will go on to become part of the famous Fellowship of the Ring.

Check out the character description provided for the trio below.
DORI, NORI & ORI: These three brothers, all sons of the same mother, could not be more different from each other. Dori, the oldest, spends much of his time watching out for Ori, the youngest; making sure he’s not caught a chill or got himself killed by Wargs or Goblins. Nobody quite knows what Nori gets up to most of the time, except that it’s guaranteed to be dodgy and quite probably, illegal. Dori, Nori and Ori are intensely loyal to each other – and whilst they are perfectly happy fighting amongst themselves, woe-betide anyone who means harm to one of these brothers.

Empire Magazine have unleashed two new images featuring Ian McKellen’s Gandalf the Grey and Martin Freeman’s Bilbo Baggins from their recently released The Hobbit cover issue. These images just further add to my fiendish excitement for Peter Jackson’s upcoming two-part “The Hobbit” feature film adaptation. Freeman really does look perfect as Baggins.

First Magazine Cover For ‘The Hobbit’ Featuring Ian McKellen’s Gandalf & Martin Freeman’s Bilbo Baggins
Jun 27th
The good folks at Empire have unveiled their new Hobbit magazine cover featuring younger versions of Gandalf the Grey (Ian McKellen) and Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman). It’s quite uncommon for a movie to garner a magazine cover practically a year and a half away from release, that being said very few movies have been as hotly anticipated as Peter Jackson’s upcoming two-part feature film adaptation of “The Hobbit”!
This cover just adds to my fiendish excitement for both ‘The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey,’ and ‘The Hobbit: There and Back Again.’ Both films are set in Middle-earth 60 years before J.R.R. Tolkien’s “The Lord of the Rings,” which Jackson and his filmmaking team brought to the big screen in the blockbuster trilogy that culminated with the Oscar®-winning “The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King.” ‘The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey,’ has been pencilled in for a December 14th, 2012 release date. ‘The Hobbit: There and Back Again’ will hit cinemas December 13th, 2013. The latest issue of Empire hits stands June 30th.
