Dec 12th
‘War Horse,’ director Steven Spielberg’s epic adventure, is a tale of loyalty, hope and tenacity set against a sweeping canvas of rural England and Europe during the First World War. ‘War Horse’ begins with the remarkable friendship between a horse named Joey and a young man called Albert, who tames and trains him. When they are forcefully parted, the film follows the extraordinary journey of the horse as he moves through the war, changing and inspiring the lives of all those he meets – British cavalry, German soldiers, and a French farmer and his granddaughter – before the story reaches its emotional climax in the heart of No Man’s Land. The First World War is experienced through the journey of this horse – an odyssey of joy and sorrow, passionate friendship and high adventure. ‘War Horse’ is one of the great stories of friendship and war – a successful book, it was turned into a hugely successful international theatrical hit that is arriving on Broadway next year. ‘War Horse’ is set for release December 25th in the US, and January 13th 2012 in the UK. The film stars Jeremy Irvine, Tom Hiddleston, Benedict Cumberbatch, Patrick Kennedy, Emily Watson, Toby Kebbell, David Thewlis, Eddie Marsan, and Peter Mullan.
What was it like getting the call to join this film, to work with Steven Spielberg?
Toby Kebbell: I was actually very lucky, it was a dream come true. I got given the role out right, I don’t know why (laughs). But I was finishing another film actually, a military film, and I got the phone call saying, “Steven’s gonna call you,” and I said, “Steven who?” And thank goodness it was Steven Spielberg (laughs), he called and asked me whether I would help him make the film, and I said, “I would love too.” It was very odd.

Throughout the movie I was full engrossed in the story, and this epic journey. Then afterwards I kept wondering, how was it working with these horses?
Tom Hiddleston: (Laughs) It was fascinating. In training and all the way through the film, I noticed that whatever I was feeling, the horses would reflect back to me. When I was truly calm, then they were completely relaxed. And then when you’re slightly nervous, and there’s an adrenaline in you about doing something like the cavalry charge, and you’re thinking, “This is a big moment, we’re going to be galloping very fast.” They can sense that, and they get excited too. They picked up on whatever you’re feeling. So when Benedict’s character Maj. Stewart says, “Fearless men on fearless horses,” he’s inspiring his men to transfer real self-belief to those animals. It was fascinating.
First Look At Sam Worthington In The ‘Clash Of The Titans’ Sequel ‘Wrath of the Titans’
Dec 2nd
This debut look at Sam Worthington as Perseus (with hair) in the ‘Clash Of the Titans’ sequel, ‘Wrath of the Titans,’ has emerged online thanks to a scan from this weeks edition of Entertainment Weekly. The first film had a couple great moments, however, overall it was a bit sh*t of a dud, hopefully this sequel can be a step up. Warner Bros has pencilled in a March 30th, 2012 release date for ‘Wrath Of The Titans.’ Sam Worthington, Liam Neeson, Edgar Ramirez, Toby Kebbell, Rosamund Pike, Danny Huston, Ralph Fiennes and Bill Nighy are set to star. Check out the synopsis below.
A decade after his heroic defeat of the monstrous Kraken, Perseus—the demigod son of Zeus—is attempting to live a quieter life as a village fisherman and the sole parent to his 10-year old son, Helius.
Meanwhile, a struggle for supremacy rages between the gods and the Titans. Dangerously weakened by humanity’s lack of devotion, the gods are losing control of the imprisoned Titans and their ferocious leader, Kronos, father of the long-ruling brothers Zeus, Hades and Poseidon. The triumvirate had overthrown their powerful father long ago, leaving him to rot in the gloomy abyss of Tartarus, a dungeon that lies deep within the cavernous underworld.

New UK Poster For Steven Spielberg’s ‘War Horse’ – Starring Jeremy Irvine, Tom Hiddleston & Benedict Cumberbatch
Nov 10th
DreamWorks Pictures has released this new UK quad poster for Steven Spielberg’s upcoming epic adventure ‘War Horse.’ 2011 sees the legendary director release two films, the motion-capture ‘The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn,’ and the more dramatic ‘War Horse.’ The latter has already been described as a contender come awards season, from the looks of this trailer I can certainly see why. ‘War Horse’ is an adaptation of the acclaimed Michael Morpurgo novel of the same name – it has also been adapted by the London National Theatre into a hugely successful stage play.
The film follows a young boy named Albert and his beloved farm horse Joey during the outbreak of WWI. Joey is sold to the British cavalry by Albert’s father and dispatched to the front lines, Joey begins an extraordinary journey against the backdrop of the Great War. Despite the obstacles he faces at every step of his journey, he touches and changes each life he encounters along the way. Albert, unable to forget his friend, leaves home for the battlefields of France to find his horse and bring him home. ‘War Horse’ is set for release December 28th in the US and January 13th 2012 in the UK. The film stars Jeremy Irvine, Tom Hiddleston, Benedict Cumberbatch, Patrick Kennedy, Emily Watson, Toby Kebbell, David Thewlis, Eddie Marsan, and Peter Mullan.
