In The Land Of The Free Trailer

in the land of the free poster In The Land Of The Free Trailer

I’m quite partial to a good documentary, especially ones shining a light on injustice. Documentary+crime+prisons+injustice+Samuel L Jackson’s narration = I’m checking this out! Looks like powerful stuff, check out the trailer below.

In the Land of the Free… Is a documentary feature that examines the story of Herman Wallace, Albert Woodfox and Robert King. They are known as the Angola 3 and have spent almost a century between them in solitary confinement in Angola, the Louisiana state penitentiary. Herman and Albert are still held in solitary confinement after thirty seven  years.  How could this be?  In America.  Today.

The film is directed by Vadim Jean (Leon The Pig Farmer, Terry Pratchett’s Hogfather) produced by the mob film company (Terry Pratchett’s Colour Of Magic, Stone Of Destiny) Gold Circle Films (My Big Fat Greek Wedding, White Noise, A Haunting In Connecticut) and UKTV’S Yesterday Films and is narrated by Samuel L Jackson.

New Iron Man 2 Trailer And Images

iron man 2 downey New Iron Man 2 Trailer And Imagesiron man 2 rockwell New Iron Man 2 Trailer And Imagesiron man 2 samuel New Iron Man 2 Trailer And Imagesiron man 2 scarlett New Iron Man 2 Trailer And Images

I’ve been really looking forward to this, the first Iron Man film helped raise the bar of Comic Book inspired films, along with The Dark Knight (to a lesser extent but it raised the bar all the same). This trailer has added to my excitement,  it’s rare with a film that I like EVERY actor, especially an action film. Also I’m extra jealous that Scarlett Johanssen is spoken for, Ryan Reynold’s I just want to put it out there, for 10 seconds after watching the trailer I truly hated you. Look out for this May 7th.

Robert Downey Jr. returns as Tony Stark, the wealthy playboy whose exploits as Iron Man are now public knowledge after his admission at the close of the first film. In the follow-up, Stark is pitted against his Russian arch nemesis, Whiplash (Mickey Rourke), and corporate rival Justin Hammer (Sam Rockwell). Also making their Marvel debuts are Scarlett Johansson as the sexy Russian spy Black Widow, and Don Cheadle, who takes over the role of Colonel James Rhodes from Terrence Howard

After.Life Trailer Starring Liam Neeson & Christina Ricci

afterlife After.Life Trailer Starring Liam Neeson & Christina Ricci

This looks creepy as hell, it’s being released in the US the middle of April, I’m not sure of a UK release date but it looks good, real disturbing but still good! The premise is horrifying, the trailer is a bit generic but the cast is great and it looks stylish and atmospheric so I’m gonna give it a go.

After a horrific car accident, Anna (Christina Ricci) wakes up to find the local funeral director Eliot Deacon (Liam Neeson) preparing her body for her funeral. Confused, terrified and feeling still very much alive, Anna doesn’t believe she’s dead, despite the funeral director’s reassurances that she is merely in transition to the afterlife. Eliot convinces her he has the ability to communicate with the dead and is the only one who can help her. Trapped inside the funeral home, with nobody to turn to except Eliot, Anna is forced to face her deepest fears and accept her own death. But Anna’s grief—stricken boyfriend Paul (Justin Long) still can’t shake the nagging suspicion that Eliot isn’t what he appears to be. As the funeral nears, Paul gets closer to unlocking the disturbing truth, but it could be too late; Anna may have already begun to cross over the other side. With an unrelenting edge of menace, After.life is a stylish psychological thriller which provocatively questions the line between life and death.

New Prince Of Persia Trailer

Prince of Persia 7 900x5901 New Prince Of Persia Trailer

Disney have got a very big year in films in 2010 with Alice In Wonderland, Toy Story 3, The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, Tron Legacy and this. I’m slowly warming to this the more that I see from it, I’ve always liked Jake Gylanhaal, it’s good to see him do something more action packed, from the trailer he looks like he spends much of the movie jumping around like coked up Kangaroo(nothing wrong with that!). I’m also looking forward to it for Toby Kebbell and Gemma Arterton two of the UK’s best young talents. They should have cast a few more Persians though it looks like a bunch of English people wearing eye liner and dyed black hair, its the 21st century now I should think films can be a bit more realistic. Look’s like a lot of fun though.

From the team that brought the “Pirates of the Caribbean” trilogy to the big screen, Walt Disney Pictures and Jerry Bruckheimer Films present PRINCE OF PERSIA: THE SANDS OF TIME, an epic action-adventure set in the mystical lands of Persia.  A rogue prince (JAKE GYLLENHAAL) reluctantly joins forces with a mysterious princess (GEMMA ARTERTON) and together, they race against dark forces to safeguard an ancient dagger capable of releasing the Sands of Time—a gift from the gods that can reverse time and allow its possessor to rule the world.

A Nightmare On Elm Street Remake Trailer

nightmare on elm street remake A Nightmare On Elm Street Remake Trailer

I’ve made it no secret my dislike for this and most remakes in general, I think some things shouldn’t be touched. If your REALLY a fan of the original you wouldn’t remake it, maybe do a prequel or another film in the series but not just remake it with the same name, it just looks like a quick cash in, also to point out Michael bay’s production company, Platinum Dunes are the ones producing this so you can take from that what you want, they’ve remade The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Amityville Horror, The Hitcher and Friday The 13th so far, with The Birds, Rosemary’s Baby and I’m sure any iconic horror film to cash in from lined up in the future.

On a positive note the trailer is actually pretty good, as was the poster I posted a few days ago. I also like the fact that Freddy is actually meant to be scary like he was in the original, the last few films in the Freddy series made him too wacky and comedic for me. I’ve got a feeling Jackie Earle Haley will be the only redeeming factor in this film.

The Losers TV Spot. Starring Zoe Saldana, Idris Elba….

the losers still The Losers TV Spot. Starring Zoe Saldana, Idris Elba....

I really like the looks of this, I was very impressed and surprised by the trailer, I’ve always liked a good light hearted, stylised action film that doesn’t take itself to seriously. It does look a bit like an updated version of the A Team but for me I was far more impressed by The Losers trailer than The A Team trailer. This TV Spot just adds to my interest. It looks very comic bookish if that’s a word, I like that :)

An explosive tale of double cross and revenge, “The Losers” centers upon the members of an elite U.S. Special Forces unit sent into the Bolivian jungle on a search and destroy mission.  The team—Clay (Morgan), Jensen (Evans), Roque (Elba), Pooch (Short) and Cougar (Jaenada)—find themselves the target of a lethal betrayal instigated from inside by a powerful enemy known only as Max (Patric).  Presumed dead, the group makes plans to even the score when they’re joined by the mysterious Aisha (Saldana), a beautiful operative with her own agenda.  Working together, they must remain deep undercover while tracking the heavily-guarded Max, a ruthless man bent on embroiling the world in a new high-tech global war. Losers is directed by Sylvain White and stars Zoe Saldana, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Chris Evans, Idris Elba and Columbus Short.

New Nightmare On Elm Street Poster

nightmareelmstreet finalposter New Nightmare On Elm Street Poster

I’m not a fan of reboots and remakes, it seems like Hollywood has run out of ideas, especially with horror films it’s getting silly now. I have to say though this poster looks great, it looks very creepy, I’m gonna check out the film just for the fact that I’m big a horror fan, hopefully it isn’t a giant steaming pile of sh*t. Look out for a trailer on Thursday.

Freddy Krueger returns in “A Nightmare on Elm Street,” a contemporary re-imagining of the horror classic. A group of suburban teenagers share one common bond: they are all being stalked by Freddy Krueger, a horribly disfigured killer who hunts them in their dreams. As long as they stay awake, they can protect one another…but when they sleep, there is no escape. Donning Freddy’s trademark fedora, red-and-green striped sweater, and four-bladed glove is Academy Award® nominee Jackie Earle Haley (“Little Children,” “Watchmen”).

Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps International Trailer

Wall Street 2 Money Never Sleeps Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps International Trailer

The timing for this film couldn’t have been better with the current economic climate. I’m definitely looking forward to this, a sequel that is needed not just a quick ca$h in! This trailer is a lot better than the teaser trailer, it gives a bit too much away for me but that’s nit picking. I’m amped for this Josh Brolin and especially Michael Douglas look great and to be fair so does Shia Labeouf, who up until now I haven’t been fully convinced by.

Michael Douglas returns as Gordon Gekko, a role which earned him an Academy Award. The film is set nearly two decades after the first film, with Gekko, having spent 14-years in prison for insider trading and security fraud, now making the lecture circuit as a published financial author. He mentors a young Wall Street broker named Jacob (Shia LaBeouf) in hopes to reconnect with his daughter Winnie, Jacob’s wife (Carrey Mulligan). The film is directed by Oliver Stone and also features Frank Langella, Susan Sarandon, and Josh Brolin. Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps is scheduled to hit theaters on April 23rd 2010.

Amanda Seyfried Interview For Chloe

amanda seyfried chloe Amanda Seyfried Interview For Chloe

Below is my interview with Amanda Seyfried for the film ‘Chloe’ which is Directed by Atom Egoyan (great name) and also stars Liam Neeson (all around legend) and Julianne Moore (red head legend). Amanda plays the titular character an irresistible and alluring young woman who Julianne Moore’s character Catherine hires to see if her suspicions of her husbands (Liam Neeson) infidelity is in fact reality. Chloe’s seductive behaviour begins to obsess Catherine and events take an unpredictable turn with potentially fatal consequences for her family. Amongst a great cast Amanda’s performance was definitely the highlight of the film for me. Check out my interview with Julianne Moore here

What got you interested in the film?

Amanda Seyfried: Well I’m gonna say the challenge because I’m pretty young in my career and I haven’t had many opportunity’s to spread my wings, this is a pretty extraordinary role that I couldn’t resist. I couldn’t resist the challenge. Also working with Atom (director) was another selling point.

Did you find it difficult to relate to someone quite different to yourself?

Amanda Seyfried:Yeah, its funny because at first it was very hard to relate to her until I started taking in and absorbing what Atom was describing to me, we spoke at great lengths about Chloe and how she was dealing with different moments in film, it was so extensive. I felt overwhelmed at times with all the information, but I was able to absorb it all to a point I could really connect to her and fall in love with her, I really did like her. It was challenging, this character is so inconsistent throughout the movie it’s almost like I’m playing so many different characters in one, it was great playing that.

What was it like working with Julianne?

Amanda Seyfried: Working with Julianne was amazing, I’ve had the fortune to work with a few ridiculously talented actresses who’s work I have seen and obviously it doesn’t feel real sometimes. I learnt a lot though, she was great. It was the first time I’ve worked on a film working with someone like Julianne and I was really respected, I was treated like a pear, it was the first time, it was the best feeling in the world to feel like a equal.

How did you find doing the more intimate scenes?

Amanda Seyfried: It’s very technical when you have to do something physically intimate, so that’s what it was, Atom showed us exactly what he had in mind to make it as easy as possible and we just laughed, there were a lot of jokes (laughs).

Chloe is in cinemas the 5th of March.
