New Trailer For James Gunn’s ‘Super’ – Starring Rainn Wilson, Ellen Page & Kevin Bacon
Mar 4th

IFC have liberated this new trailer for James Gunn’s upcoming superhero comedy ‘Super’. This movie looks like it’s a few slices short of a loaf of bread – it looks nuts, in a thoroughly entertaining, yet completely random way! I really enjoyed James Gunn’s last movie ‘Slither,’ I hope this another gem. ‘Super’ stars Rainn Wilson, Ellen Page, Liv Tyler, and Kevin Bacon.
Frank (Rainn Wilson) is an average guy who transforms himself into superhero The Crimson Bolt after his wife Sarah (Liv Tyler) hooks up with a smooth-talking drug dealer, Jacques (Kevin Bacon). What Frank lacks in superpowers, he makes up for with a trusty wrench in his one-man war on crime. But every superhero needs a sidekick. Enter Libby (Ellen Page), a cute psychopath working at the local comic book store. Transforming into “Boltie”, Libby teams up with Frank to take Jacques down. From the surprising imagination of writer-director James Gunn (Slither) comes Bolt and Boltie, a crazed crime fighting duo for the XBox generation. They’re here to save the day, or at least to beat you up.

Mar 4th
DreamWorks Animation have released this new trailer and poster for their upcoming sequel ‘Kung Fu Panda 2.’ I was a fan of ‘Kung Fu Panda,’ from start to finish it was a heap of fun. Fingers crossed the sequel follows on from the first. The voice cast assembled for the movie is top notch in Jack Black, Angelina Jolie, Jackie Chan, Seth Rogen, Lucy Liu, David Cross, Dustin Hoffman, Gary Oldman, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Michelle Yeoh and Vincent Garber. Kung Fu Panda 2 is set for release May 26th, 2011.

It is up to Po and The Furious Five to journey across China to face this threat and vanquish it. But how can Po stop a weapon that can stop kung fu? He must look to his past and uncover the secrets of his mysterious origins; only then will he be able to unlock the strength he needs to succeed.
Second ‘Water For Elephants’ Trailer – Starring Reese Witherspoon, Christoph Waltz & Robert Pattinson
Mar 4th
20th Century Fox have released this second full-length trailer for Francis Lawrence’s (I Am Legend) ‘Water For Elephents,’ the upcoming adaptation of the Sara Gruen acclaimed novel of the same name. The film stars Oscar winners Reese Witherspoon, Christoph Waltz, and that sparkly vampire fella Robert Pattinson. Looks like pretty heart warming stuff! ‘Water For Elephants’ is released in US cinemas April 15th, and the UK April 22nd. The trailer comes via Amazon – not a really big, tall woman, but the huge site that delivers music, movies, books, clothes and other entertainment bits and bobs to your front door.
As a young man, Jacob Jankowski was tossed by fate onto a rickety train that was home to the Benzini Brothers Most Spectacular Show on Earth. It was the early part of the great Depression, and for Jacob, now ninety, the circus world he remembers was both his salvation and a living hell. A veterinary student just shy of a degree, he was put in charge of caring for the circus menagerie. It was there that he met Marlena, the beautiful equestrian star married to August, the charismatic but twisted animal trainer. And he met Rosie, an untrainable elephant who was the great gray hope for this third-rate traveling show. The bond that grew among this unlikely trio was one of love and trust, and, ultimately, it was their only hope for survival.
Visual Effects Legend Douglas Trumbull Talks About Terrence Malick’s ‘The Tree of Life’
Feb 21st
Visual effects legend Douglas Trumbull recently spoke to The Australian about his work on Terrence Malick’s ‘The Tree of Life.’ Malick’s upcoming film is Trumbell’s first visual effects work in three decades. His previous credits include undeniable classics such as Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey, Close Encounters of the Third Kind and Blade Runner. From the looks of the trailer it looks like Trumbell’s work on ‘Tree Of Life’ is nothing short of awe-inspiring. Check out what Trumbell had to say about the film:
Though it is ostensibly a coming-of-age fantasy, Trumbull describes this film as “more of a ‘man’s place in the universe’ concept, because it’s really talking about the entire universe and where we fit into it”.
Little else has been revealed about The Tree of Life, due for release in May. “It’s a very, very cosmic and very spiritual movie,” promises Trumbull. “A movie that, in style and content, is quite different from anything you’re seeing.”
‘The Tree Of Life’ is by far and away my most anticipated film of 2011. Terrence Malick is quite possibly my favourite director, his films are deeply philosophical, rich and exquisitely beautiful. Since his debut film Badlands in 1973, Malick has only made three other films (Days Of Heaven, The Thin Red Line and The New World). I’m supremely confident his fifth will be as amazing, if not more so. ‘The Tree Of Life’ is set for release May 27th, 2011…….I’m stoked!
