Nov 24th

Variety have reported that DreamWorks Steven Spielberg and Stacey Snider have greenlit Real Steel. This is the first film the studio has made since locking in $825 million. Real Steel will be directed by Shawn Levy (Night at the Museum) and star Hugh Jackman. It is based on a short story by Richard Matheson. Steven Spielberg and Stacey Snider will be producing at DreamWorks, Real Steel is the first movie they’ve greenlit since splitting with Universal. Production will start on this project in June. The planned budget is $80 million.

Real Steel focuses on a fighter who has to reinvent himself when human boxers are replaced by robots. Jackman is going to play a struggling Robot Boxing promoter. He finds a discarded robot that always seems to come up on the winning end. Jackman’s character also realizes he has a 11-year-old son, and they grow closer as the robot fights its way toward the top.
Greenberg Trailer – starring Ben Stiller, Rhys Ifans and Directed by Noah Baumbach
Nov 24th
Ben Stiller is a bit hit and me miss for me but I really lik like the look of this, it looks real sarcastic and ironic.
Greenberg (Ben Stiller) is at a crossroads in his life. Out of a job and none too interested in finding one, he agrees to housesit for his younger and more successful brother (Chris Messina), thereby getting a free place to stay in Los Angeles. Once settled in, Greenberg sets out to reconnect with his old friend and former bandmate Ivan (Rhys Ifans). But times have changed, and old friends aren’t necessarily still best friends, so Greenberg finds himself spending more and more time instead with his brother’s personal assistant Florence (Greta Gerwig), an aspiring singer and herself something of a lost soul. As their relationship develops through a series of embarrassingly awkward romantic encounters, even someone as irascible as Greenberg might have at last found a reason to be happy.
Iron Man 2 Trailer With Sherlock Holmes?
Nov 20th

Director Jon Favreau a regular user of twitter recently gave a little hint regarding Iron Man 2′s trailer release by retweeting the question below.
RT @Ann_Howard: @Jon_Favreau PLEASE tell us the trailer is coming soon – w/Sherlock Holmes, perhaps??
It does make sense that the Iron Man 2 trailer would be attached to Sherlock Holmes (in cinemas Christmas Day), since other than Avatar and Lovely Bones it is one of the most commercially viable films left to be released in 2009, also (and a bit more obviously) they both star Robert Downey Jr. I’m sure the trailer will leak online before the 25th of December. Commercially Iron Man 2 is one of the most anticipated film of 2010 (I thought the first one was a solid 7/10 nothing special) and is in theaters May 7, 2010.
Crazy Heart Poster
Nov 16th

Crazy Heart has a nice Oscar Buzz about it, the cast is great – Jeff Bridges, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Robert Duvall and Colin Farrell, add the fact that everyone no matter how old you are loves a story on redemption. The film is adapted from Thomas Cobb’s Book of the same name and the film has been bumped up to a December release in the states to make sure that it is in contention for the Oscars in February. The trailer should be released the next few days. Check out the trailer below!
Bad Blake is a broken-down, hard-living country music singer who’s had way too many marriages, far too many years on the road and one too many drinks way too many times. And yet, Bad can’t help but reach for salvation with the help of Jean, a journalist who discovers the real man behind the musician. Bad also becomes the mentor to a contemporary country star, Tommy Sweet (Colin Farrell), while simultaneously struggling in the rising young crooner’s shadow.
The Fighter – Christian Bale, Amy Adams & Mark Wahlberg
Nov 11th

I really like the look of this, I hope this is the film that get’s Christian Bale some Oscar consideration after a number of worthy performances – American Psycho, The Prestige & The Machinist. As you can see from the pic he’s lost a huge amount of weight to play his character in The Fighter, this guy has to be the one of the most dedicated actors in the business, his weight seems to go up and down every role he plays. No release date has been set for The Fighter to date, a good guess would say it will be released late 2010 in time for award season.
From acclaimed director David O. Russell (Flirting with Disaster, Three Kings) comes THE FIGHTER, the powerful true story of professional boxers Dickie (Christian Bale) and Micky (Academy Award Nominee Mark Wahlberg). Although they are half brothers, their careers take very different courses. Older brother Dickie does not suffer fro ma shortage of talent or confidence, but his lack of judgment and humility lead him down a path of self-destruction. After blowing his shot against one of the greatest fighters of his generation, Dickie descends down a dangerous road of drug addiction that robs him of his career, alienates his brother, and eventually lands him in jail. Meanwhile, discouraged from yet another defeat, younger brother Micky, whose talent never seems to match the size of his heart, vanishes into early retirement. But his itch to fight never goes away, and when a rehabilitated Dickie is released from prison and takes over as Micky’s trainer, Micky transforms himself from an underdog into a world champion prized pugilist.

Clash Of The Titans – Trailer
Nov 11th

I’m in two minds about the trailer, the tag line ‘Titans Will Clash’ is terrible if someone actually got paid to come up with that I don’t know who’s the bigger fool, the person who came up with it or the person who paid them. On the other hand it looks like a lot of fun, definitely one of them films to go and watch with your mates then comment after about which part was the most bad ass. From the trailer it looks a cross between Lord Of The Rings and a less homoerotic 300 (this is a good thing!).
In the film, the ultimate struggle for power pits men against kings and kings against gods. But the war between the gods themselves could destroy the world. Born of a god but raised as a man, Perseus (Worthington) is helpless to save his family from Hades (Fiennes), vengeful god of the underworld. With nothing left to lose, Perseus volunteers to lead a dangerous mission to defeat Hades before he can seize power from Zeus (Neeson) and unleash hell on Earth. Leading a daring band of warriors, Perseus sets off on a perilous journey deep into forbidden worlds. Battling unholy demons and fearsome beasts, he will only survive if he can accept his power as a god, defy his fate and create his own destiny.

No sign of this guy below, I’m sure he’ll make a little cameo though. Clash Of The Titans is in cinemas 26 March 2010.
