New UK Poster For ‘Morning Glory’ – Starring Rachel McAdams, Harrison Ford & Diane Keaton
Dec 13th
Paramount Pictures have let loose this brand new UK poster for their upcoming rom-com ‘Morning Glory’ *insert juvenile joke here*. The cast is first rate in Harrison Ford (looking appropriately grumpy in the poster), Rachel McAdams, Patrick Wilson, Jeff Goldblum and Diane Keaton. Look out for ‘Morning Glory’ in UK cinemas January 21st.
When hard–working TV producer Becky Fuller (McAdams) is fired from a local news program, her career begins to look as bleak as her hapless love life. Stumbling into a job at “Daybreak” (the last–place national morning news show), Becky decides to revitalize the show by bringing on legendary TV anchor Mike Pomeroy (Ford). Unfortunately, Pomeroy refuses to cover morning show staples like celebrity gossip, weather, fashion and crafts – let alone work with his new co–host, Colleen Peck (Keaton), a former beauty queen and longtime morning show personality who is more than happy covering morning “news.” As Mike and Colleen clash, first behind the scenes and then on the air, Becky’s blossoming love affair with fellow producer, Adam Bennett (Wilson) begins to unravel – and soon Becky is struggling to save her relationship, her reputation, her job and ultimately, the show itself.
New International Poster For Darren Aronofsky’s ‘Black Swan’ – Starring Natalie Portman, Vincent Cassel & Mila Kunis
Dec 6th
Glamour Magazine have got their mitts on this new international poster for Darren Aronofsky’s Black Swan. I think I’ve gushed over this film enough by now. All you need to know is that it’s engrossing, beautifully twisted and wholly fantabulous! Black Swan is set for release January 21st, 2011 in the UK. You can check out my interview with Natalie Portman here, Darren Aronofsky interview here, and Mila Kunis/Vincent Cassel here.
Black Swan follows the story of Nina (Portman), a ballerina in a New York City ballet company whose life, like all those in her profession, is completely consumed with dance. She lives with her retired ballerina mother Erica (Barbara Hershey) who zealously supports her daughter’s professional ambition. When artistic director Thomas Leroy (Vincent Cassel) decides to replace prima ballerina Beth MacIntyre (Winona Ryder) for the opening production of their new season, Swan Lake, Nina is his first choice. But Nina has competition: a new dancer, Lily (Kunis), who impresses Leroy as well. Swan Lake requires a dancer who can play both the White Swan with innocence and grace, and the Black Swan, who represents guile and sensuality. Nina fits the White Swan role perfectly but Lily is the personification of the Black Swan. As the two young dancers expand their rivalry into a twisted friendship, Nina begins to get more in touch with her dark side with a recklessness that threatens to destroy her.

When Jim confesses he’s on anti-depressants, William knows he’s found a victim. He vows to help Jim get off his drugs, and the rest of the group fall in line. New Poster For Tom Hooper’s ‘The King’s Speech’ – Starring Colin Firth, Helena Bonham Carter & Geoffrey Rush
Dec 3rd
Yahoo! Movies have got their mitts on this classy new poster for ‘The King’s Speech’ – a strong contender for one of my favourite films of the year. I was fortunate to catch this movie at the London Film Festival last month, it’s certainly worthy of all the Oscar buzz it’s been receiving – particularly Colin Firth and Geoffrey Rush’s performances. You can check out my interview with Colin Firth and Geoffrey Rush here. The King’s Speech is in US cinemas November 26th and the UK release date is January 7th 2011.
This is the story of the man who became King George VI, the father of Queen Elizabeth II. After his brother abdicates, George (‘Bertie’) reluctantly assumes the throne. Plagued by a dreaded stutter and considered unfit to be king, Bertie engages the help of an unorthodox speech therapist named Lionel Logue. Through a set of unexpected techniques, and as a result of an unlikely friendship, Bertie is able to find his voice and boldly lead the country into war.

Great New Trailer For Yip Man 2 – Starring Donnie Yen & Sammo Hung
Dec 2nd
As a massive fan of Donnie Yen, Sammo Hung, Martial Arts movies in general, the historical figure Ip Man and anything Bruce Lee related (Ip Man was Bruce Lee’s master), I need to slap myself, put on a dunce hat and sit in the corner of my bedroom facing the wall for not having seen Yip Man. Today Yahoo have released this dazzling trailer for it’s sequel Yip Man 2, making me feel like even more of a dunce!
After escaping the Japanese occupation of his hometown of Foshan, China, Ip Man and his family have arrived in Hong Kong, which is living under the iron fist of British colonial rule. Ip wants to support his family by opening up a martial arts academy to teach his unique Wing Chun style. But a corrupt cabal of Hong Kong martial arts masters, led by Hung Chun-nam, refuses to allow Ip to teach until he proves himself – and prove himself he does, in an intense series of fights against the masters showcasing a dazzling variety of martial arts styles, culminating in a highly anticipated brawl between Ip and Hung atop a rickety table. But even after gaining the respect of the masters, Ip’s troubles are far from over. Hong Kong under British rule is a world of corruption, and when a Western-style boxer named Taylor “Twister” Milos comes to town to entertain the British upper-class, and insults both Chinese martial arts and the native citizens in a horrifically violent way, Ip must step up and fight for the honor of both his kung fu and the Chinese people. Forced by honor to enter a brutal “King of the Ring” boxing match against Twister, it’s East versus West in an amazing, knock-down drag-out fight to the finish.
