Rhys Ifans Will Play The Lizard In The Upcoming Spiderman Reboot
Oct 14th

After Sony announced earlier week that Rhys Ifans would be cast opposite Andrew Garfield (Peter Parker/Spiderman) and Emma Stone (Gwen Stacy) as an unspecified villain in the upcoming Spiderman Reboot. TheWrap have now reported that Ifans will in fact portray, none other than Dr. Curt Connors/The Lizard. Kudos to me, my immense intuition guessed The Lizard because ‘my only hunch is that Ifans kind of looks like a lizard…..yes, that‘s the best I‘ve got!’ *Pats myself on the back*.
Rhys Ifans will play Dr. Curt Connors, better known as The Lizard, in Marc Webb’s “Spider-Man,” TheWrap has learned.
There had been rumors across the blogosphere that Sony was thinking of bringing back Venom for the franchise reboot, but that character will not be featured in the movie, two individuals familiar with the project have told TheWrap.
The Spiderman Reboot is to be directed by Marc Webb from a screenplay by James Vanderbilt. Production will begin in December and the film will be released in cinemas in 3D on July 3, 2012.
Tom Hardy Cast In Christopher Nolan’s ‘Batman 3′
Oct 13th

Bloody hell this is GREAT news, so great it thoroughly deserved the caps-lock! Deadline have reported that Tom Hardy has been cast in Christopher Nolan’s hugely anticipated ‘Batman 3′. Details are sketchy at the moment, there’s no details on who he’ll be portraying in the report – my money’s on a villain! This is what those scoopmeisters over at Deadline have reported:
I’m told that Hardy has been set by his Inception director Chris Nolan for a lead role in the next Batman film at Warner Bros. Insiders are keeping the role secret and won’t even say if he’s up for a villain role, but that seems a reasonable assumption.
I’m itching to see this film, Hardy was fantastic in Inception. Expect to hear more details about this casting appointment soon. ‘Batman 3′ has a release date of June 20th 2012 and stars Christian Bale, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman and Tom Hardy.
Rhys Ifans Cast As The Villain In The Upcoming Spiderman Reboot
Oct 11th
Sony Pictures have put to bed all the rampant casting rumours by confirming that they have offered the villain role in the Spider-Man reboot to Rhys Ifans. The only thing that they’re keeping to themselves at the moment is which villain Ifans will actually be portraying. Possibilities include The Green Goblin, Venom, The Vulture and The Lizard – my moneys on The Lizard, my only hunch is that Ifans kind of looks like a lizard…..yes, that‘s the best I‘ve got! Sony Pictures go on to say:
“We have been very fortunate to attract some of the best actors working today to play the villains in the Spider-Man movies, and it is exciting to see that trend continue with Rhys Ifans. After seeing his performance in our upcoming film Anonymous, we’re in awe of his talent and think he’s the perfect choice to take on this role.”
Director Marc Webb chimes in with a few words about how the villain’s relationship to Spider-Man himself is the key to the character:
“What sets the Spider-Man villains apart is the complexity of their relationships with Peter Parker. Rhys’ incredible ability to embody both warmth and rage makes him the ideal choice for this character.”
The Spiderman Reboot is to be directed by Marc Webb from a screenplay by James Vanderbilt. production will begin in December and the film will be released in theatres in 3D on July 3, 2012.
Batman 3 News – Look’s Like It Won’t Be Shot In 3D
Apr 21st
I’m of two minds about 3D movies if I’m honest, I can understand the people that like the effect and how (when done well) it helps heighten the cinematic experience, for example with Avatar, yet on the other hand I also understand the people that are (viciously) against 3D, especially when considering how Warner Brothers butchered Clash Of The Titans by converting it to 3D and the heightened prices.
One thing I’m not on the fence about is that I certainly wouldn’t like to see ‘Batman 3′ in 3D and thankfully from what the series cinematographer Wally Pfister says below it looks like that’s not gonna happen. Cinematical caught up with him just before he received the Star Award for his career in cinematography from the Dallas Film Society. He talks briefly about filming in digital, 3D, IMAX and how he and Christopher Nolan decided against filming Nolan’s upcoming Inception in 3D. In other Batman related news, reports are that Warners Bros will be announcing more about ‘Batman 3′ in July
can’t wait.
“I did it [IMAX] for one shot of The Dark Knight because he said, you have to say you did it, and literally I had this strapped to my shoulder and I was carrying it. But I think Chris is game for doing something interesting like that, Lord knows that the 3-D fad might pass by the time that summer comes around.”
“But I know one thing about the film that Chris is adamant about is that he wants to shoot on film,” Pfister said. “He doesn’t want to shoot on video, and I’m the same way.”
