Deadline are reporting that Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly are set to re-team with their ‘Step Brothers’ and ‘Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby’ director Adam McKay for a new comedy titled ‘Border Guards.’ In the film, Ferrell and Reilly playing two hapless but earnest friends who decide to give purpose to their lives by protecting America’s borders from illegal immigrants. In the process they find themselves accidentally stranded in Mexico without identification and must sneak back into the USA. Ferrell most recently starred in McKay’s ‘Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues,’ with Reilly also appearing in a cameo role.
The ‘Border Guards’ script is being penned by Jesse Armstrong, a British comedy writer who with writing partner Sam Bain created the Channel 4 sitcoms ‘Peep Show’ and ‘Fresh Meat,’ and the Danny Boyle-directed series ‘Babylon.’ Armstrong’s also scripted a biopic on Republican strategist Lee Atwater for Gary Sanchez with Adam McKay attached to direct.
According to THR, Will Ferrell is set for a lead role in ‘Match Maker,’ a sports comedy about the legendary conflict between Bobby Riggs (Ferrell) and Billie Jean King. Additionally, Steven Conrad has come aboard to write the script for the project, which is being developed by Chernin Entertainment and Gary Sanchez Productions.
‘Match Maker’ adapts the ESPN Magazine article “The Match Maker: Bobby Riggs, The Mafia and The Battle of the Sexes” penned by Don Van Natta Jr. The feature covers the infamous rivalry between Bobby Riggs, a tennis champ past his prime who came out of retirement to challenge women’s tennis player King in a 1973 game that became known as “The Battle of the Sexes”. Over 50 million Americans tuned in to watch Billie Jean King beat Riggs and win the $100,000 prize. It was later postulated that Riggs lost on purpose in order to erase some gambling debts he had to the mob.

To prepare himself for his incarceration, Ferrell’s character hires the man who washes his car (Hart) to toughen him up in his final 30 days of freedom. Brie will play the fiancee of Ferrell’s character. The ‘Get Hard’ script was written by Ian Roberts and Jay Martel, who are executive producers on Comedy Central’s ‘Key & Peele.’

‘Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues… Continued’ Trailer & Announcement; 763* New Jokes (*Give Or Take)
Paramount Pictures and Gary Sanchez Productions today announced a theatrical release of an all new cut of ‘Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues,’ which lands in cinemas in the US and UK beginning February 28th for one-week only. The new version of the film, titled ‘Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues… Continued,’ will feature up to 763 entirely new jokes from legendary anchorman Ron Burgundy and America’s favorite 24-hour global news team. The film is now rated 15.
“When my editor told me we had a whole different version of the movie that was more than two hours long with nearly 800 new jokes, I was shocked. But when Paramount said they were actually going to put it in theatres, I did a 1950’s spit take. If you’re a hardcore Anchorman fan, go see this. If you’re not, stay very far away,” said writer / director Adam McKay.
Yahoo! Movies has debuted this fantastic Mondo poster for ‘The LEGO Movie.’ Created by artist Tom Whalen, the poster features all the plucky plastic heroes — including DC Comics’ Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman — and block-headed villains of the new movie.
Mondo CEO Justin Ishmael said in a statement, “The film obviously comes from a place of true enthusiasm and fandom, and we tried to match that same effort and enthusiasm on the poster.” The custom design will be available in a 18″ x 24″ screenprint with a limited edition of only 475 prints. Priced at $45, the poster will be available for sale at MondoTees.com today (February 7th) at a random time during the day.
