Sam Rockwell Joins Brad Pitt In Andrew Dominik’s ‘Cogan’s Trade’
Jan 5th
Deadline have reported that Sam Rockwell will be re-teaming with director/writer Andrew Dominik and Brad Pitt for the upcoming crime flick ‘Cogan’s Trade.’ Dominik previously directed the pair in ‘The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford,’ without a doubt one of my favourite movies of the last decade. Their Jesse James co-star Casey Affleck has been rumoured as a possible participant in the film.
Other actors suggested to be joining the cast include Josh Brolin, Bill Murray, Zoe Saldana and Mark Ruffalo. Cogan’s Trade will be shot in New Orleans this March, for a 2012 release date. Pitt will play the titular character, Jackie Cogan, an enforcer investigating the robbery of a high stakes poker game protected by the mob, Rockwell’s role is unspecified at this moment in time. The film is based on the George V. Higgins novel of the same name. I’m stoked for this!

James Cameron Officially Directing Avatar 2 & 3 For A Targeted December 2014 & 2015 Release
Oct 27th
Considering that Avatar is currently the highest grossing movie of all time (taking in nearly $2.8 billion at the worldwide box office ), the top-selling Blu-ray disc of all time and was nominated for nine Academy Awards, it was always sooner rather than later that Twentieth Century Fox would come to an agreement with director and writer James Cameron to add to the magical world he created. And that’s exactly what has been announced today by Fox Film Entertainment Chairmen Jim Gianopulos and Tom Rothman, who’ve made it official that James Cameron is set to direct Avatar 2 and 3 as his next films, with targeted releases for December 2014 and December 2015. Check out some excerpts from the press release below. You can read the full press release here.
Cameron, who had always viewed AVATAR as the creation of a new world and mythology, will begin work on the scripts early next year with an eye towards commencing production later in 2011. Cameron will decide if he will shoot the films back-to-back after he completes the scripts, but the release of the first, as yet untitled sequel, is targeted for December 2014, with the third film contemplated for a December 2015 release.
Commented Cameron: “It is a rare and remarkable opportunity when a filmmaker gets to build a fantasy world, and watch it grow, with the resources and partnership of a global media company. AVATAR was conceived as an epic work of fantasy – a world that audiences could visit, across all media platforms, and this moment marks the launch of the next phase of that world. With two new films on the drawing boards, my company and I are embarking on an epic journey with our partners at Twentieth Century Fox. Our goal is to meet and exceed the global audience’s expectations for the richness of AVATAR’s visual world and the power of the storytelling. In the second and third films, which will be self contained stories that also fulfill a greater story arc, we will not back off the throttle of AVATAR’s visual and emotional horsepower, and will continue to explore its themes and characters, which touched the hearts of audiences in all cultures around the world. I’m looking forward to returning to Pandora, a world where our imaginations can run wild.”
New Clip & Pictures From The Losers
Apr 9th
I’ve made it no secret how much I’m looking forward to this, it looks like a heap of fun. My friend said the comic is great as well, I’m fully on board with this now. I’ve always been a sucker for stylised action films (that don’t take themselves too seriously!). The only negative thing I can say is that the clip shows a bit too much for me, but what it showed, looked a whole lot better than the A Team film!! This is out on the 23rd in the US and late May in the UK.
“The Losers” stars Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Clay; Zoë Saldana as Aisha; Chris Evans as Jensen; Idris Elba as Roque; Columbus Short as Pooch; Oscar Jaenada as Cougar; and Jason Patric as Max. Sylvain White directed the film from a screenplay by Peter Berg and James Vanderbilt, based upon the comic book series written by Andy Diggle, illustrated by Jock and published by DC Comics/Vertigo. “The Losers” is produced by Joel Silver, Akiva Goldsman and Kerry Foster, with Steve Richards, Andrew Rona, Sarah Aubrey and Stuart Besser serving as executive producers and Richard Mirisch co-producing.

New The Losers Poster. Starring Zoe Saldana, Chris Evans & Idris Elba
Mar 22nd
Another poster for The Loser’s has hit online, I really really like the looks of this. I’ve always liked a good light hearted, stylised action film that doesn’t take itself to seriously. This Poster just adds to my interest, I like the concept, it looks very comic bookish if that’s a word, I like that. I hope this doesn’t dissapoint!
An explosive tale of double cross and revenge, “The Losers” centers upon the members of an elite U.S. Special Forces unit sent into the Bolivian jungle on a search and destroy mission. The team—Clay (Morgan), Jensen (Evans), Roque (Elba), Pooch (Short) and Cougar (Jaenada)—find themselves the target of a lethal betrayal instigated from inside by a powerful enemy known only as Max (Patric). Presumed dead, the group makes plans to even the score when they’re joined by the mysterious Aisha (Saldana), a beautiful operative with her own agenda. Working together, they must remain deep undercover while tracking the heavily-guarded Max, a ruthless man bent on embroiling the world in a new high-tech global war. Losers is directed by Sylvain White and stars Zoe Saldana, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Chris Evans, Idris Elba and Columbus Short.
