First Look At Daniel Day-Lewis As Abraham Lincoln For Steven Spielberg’s ‘Lincoln’
This debut image has emerged online of Daniel Day-Lewis as Abraham Lincoln while taking a break from filming Steven Spielberg’s upcoming biopic ‘Lincoln.’ Based on the best-selling book, ‘Team of Rivals,’ by Pulitzer Prize-winning historian Doris Kearns Goodwin (who also adapted the script with Tony Kushner), the story focuses on the life of the former President, focusing on the man’s rise to politics and his role in the Civil War.
Daniel Day-Lewis stars with the likes of (takes a deep breath) Sally Field, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Tommy Lee Jones, Tim Blake Nelson, James Spader, David Costabile, Joseph Cross, John Hawkes, Hal Holbrook, Byron Jennings, Dakin Matthews, Bruce McGill, Boris McGiver, Gloria Reuben, Jeremy Strong, Jared Harris, Jackie Earle Haley, David Strathairn, Walton Goggins, David Oyelowo, and David Warshofsky (catches breathe). I’ve got high hopes for this film, look out for ‘Lincoln’ late 2012. Source: Michael Phillips.
