During a chat with directors Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg for their Oscar-nominated film ‘Kon-Tiki,’ the filmmakers revealed to This Is Infamous that the fifth ‘Pirates Of The Caribbean’ will be titled ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.’ For fans of the theme park attraction, that title will ring a pretty familiar bell, although it’s far too soon to know what exactly that means for whatever story Jeff Nathanson has cooked up this time.

While Jerry Bruckheimer is again producing and Johnny Depp is set to return as Captain Jack Sparrow, plot details are currently being kept under lock and key. Furthermore, it’s not clear whether actors from past installments, such as Geoffrey Rush or Penelope Cruz, would return to reprise their roles. The ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ franchise has grossed more than $3.5 billion worldwide with the 2011 ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides’ grossing more than $1 billion worldwide. ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales’ is scheduled to begin production in January of 2014 for a July 15, 2015 release.
