New ‘The Expendables 2′ Promo Images Feature Jean-Claude Van Damme, Dolph Lundgren & Scott Adkins
Feb 3rd
Latino Review has uncovered these pretty shoddy promo images (they look like they’re taken from a dodgy fancy-dress website) of Jean-Claude Van Damme, Dolph Lundgren and a bloodied-up Scott Adkins for Simon West’s action-hero blockbuster ‘The Expendables 2.’ The testosterone-filled cast also includes the likes of Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis, Jason Statham, Terry Crews, Jet Li, Chuck Norris, and Liam Hemsworth. ’The Expendables 2′ is scheduled for a August 17th release date.
The Expendables are back and this time it’s personal… Barney Ross (Sylvester Stallone), Lee Christmas (Lee Statham), Yin Yang (Jet Li), Gunnar Jensen (Dolph Lundgren),Toll Road (Randy Couture) and Hale Caesar (Terry Crews) — with newest members Billy the Kid (Liam Hemsworth) and Maggie (Yu Nan) aboard — are reunited when Mr. Church (Bruce Willis) enlists the Expendables to take on a seemingly simple job. The task looks like an easy paycheck for Barney and his band of old-school mercenaries. But when things go wrong and one of their own is viciously killed, the Expendables are compelled to seek revenge in hostile territory where the odds are stacked against them. Hell-bent on payback, the crew cuts a swath of destruction through opposing forces, wreaking havoc and shutting down an unexpected threat in the nick of time — six pounds of weapons-grade plutonium; enough to change the balance of power in the world. But that’s nothing compared to the justice they serve against the villainous adversary who savagely murdered their brother. That is done the Expendables way….

First Trailer For ‘Cold Light of Day’ – Starring Henry Cavill, Bruce Willis & Sigourney Weaver
Jan 30th
Yahoo! Movies has set loose this debut trailer for Mabrouk El-Mechri’s (JCVD) action-thriller ‘Cold Light of Day.’ Starring Henry Cavill, Bruce Willis, Veronica Echegui, and Sigourney Weaver, the story centers on a young American whose family is kidnapped while on a vacation to Spain. He is left with only hours to find and the connection between their disappearance and his father’s secrets. The film is released in cinemas April 6th.
When Will Shaw (Henry Cavill) arrives in Spain for a weeklong sailing vacation with his family, the stressed young business man is not in a holiday mood. His startup company just went under and his tense relationship with his disciplinarian father Martin (Bruce Willis) only makes matters worse. But when the family is kidnapped by what turns out to be intelligence agents hell-bent on recovering a mysterious suitcase, Will suddenly finds himself on the run. His whole world turns upside down when Martin reappears, revealing he is an undercover agent tangled in an intergovernmental web of lies and secrets. During a clandestine rendezvous, Martin is killed by a sniper, and Will must find a way to get the rest of his family back alive.
Sylvester Stallone Confirms That ‘The Expendables 2′ Will Be PG-13
Jan 19th
Following Chuck Norris’ comments that his participation in ‘The Expendables 2′ had cut the movie from an R-rating to PG-13 (the first Expendables movie received an R for violence and language), AICN spoke to Sylvester Stallone regarding the matter, and disappointingly (for me at least), Stallone confirmed that ‘The Expendables 2′ is indeed aiming for a PG-13:
“….the film is fantastic with Van Damme turning in an inspired performance… Our final battle is one for the ages. The PG13 rumor is true, but before your readers pass judgement, trust me when I say this film is LARGE in every way and delivers on every level. This movie touches on many emotions which we want to share with the broadest audience possible, BUT, fear not, this Barbeque of Grand scale Ass Bashing will not leave anyone hungry…Sly”
This confirmation has substantially decreased my interest in ‘The Expendables 2.’ Considering the first films financial success with an R-rating, and its emphasis on excessive violence, no-holds-barred action sequences, it seems quite bizarre to me that Stallone would aim for a PG-13 rating. I guess we’ll just to cross our fingers and hope for the best. Alongside Chuck Norris and Sylvester Stallone, the sequel also stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis, Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, Terry Crews, Jet Li, Liam Hemsworth and Jean-Claude Van Damme. The film is scheduled for a August 17th release.
