Debut Character Posters For Green Lantern – Starring Ryan Reynolds, Mark Strong & Peter Sarsgaard
Jul 26th
Warner Bros. have released the first promo art for the Green Lantern, giving us our first look at Hollywood’s current rent a villain Mark Strong as Sinestro and Peter Sarsgaard as Hector Hammond. I’m cautiously anticipating this film, I really like the cast and I generally like Director Martin Campbell’s films, I’ve just never been much of a Green Lantern fan, these posters havn’t exactly given me a sensory overload either. Check out the synopsis below.
Bringing the enduringly popular superhero to the big screen for the first time, “Green Lantern” stars Ryan Reynolds (“X-Men Origins: Wolverine”) in the title role, under the direction of Martin Campbell (“Casino Royale”).
In a universe as vast as it is mysterious, a small but powerful force has existed for centuries. Protectors of peace and justice, they are called the Green Lantern Corps. A brotherhood of warriors sworn to keep intergalactic order, each Green Lantern wears a ring that grants him superpowers. But when a new enemy called Parallax threatens to destroy the balance of power in the Universe, their fate and the fate of Earth lie in the hands of their newest recruit, the first human ever selected: Hal Jordan.
Hal is a gifted and cocky test pilot, but the Green Lanterns have little respect for humans, who have never harnessed the infinite powers of the ring before. But Hal is clearly the missing piece to the puzzle, and along with his determination and willpower, he has one thing no member of the Corps has ever had: humanity. With the encouragement of fellow pilot and childhood sweetheart Carol Ferris (Blake Lively), if Hal can quickly master his new powers and find the courage to overcome his fears, he may prove to be not only the key to defeating Parallax…he will become the greatest Green Lantern of all.
Great New Character Posters For Machete – Featuring Robert De Niro, Jessica Alba & More
Jul 12th

These new character posters for Machete, much like the trailer released last week embody the word awesome. They feature a knife, a sword, four hand guns, a huge machine gun/grenade launcher and roughly twenty machete’s. I love the look of this film, Robert Rodriguez is unrivaled at badassery and grindhouse style marketing. I don’t expect any of these characters to ever look back at an explosion. Eg:
Average person: Oh snap, did you just see that car explode
Machete character: No
Rodriguez wrote the script and co-directed the movie with his longtime editor Ethan Maniquis. The action/exploitation film follows Danny Trejo as a badass Mexican out to mess with The Man. Robert De Niro, Jessica Alba, Michelle Rodriguez and Lindsay Lohan co-star. 20th Century Fox is releasing the film on September 3rd in the US and October 29th in the UK.
New Jonah Hex Character Posters
May 15th
A simple proverb that comes to mind with Jonah Hex’s promotion is ‘better late than never’. With the release date just over a month away (June 18th) Warner Bros have finally released four Jonah Hex character posters via myspace featuring Josh Brolin with a gun bigger than his face as Jonah Hex, Megan Fox looking like the cleanest prostitute in history as Leila, John Malkovich looking like he could do with some spare change as Turnbull and Michael Fassbender looking like a gay seriel killer as Burke. Jonah Hex seems to be getting strong polarizing opinions online but to me the trailer looked like completely insane fun. If you missed the trailer you can check it out here.
Jonah Hex is a scarred drifter and bounty hunter of last resort, a tough and stoic gunslinger who can track down anyone… and anything. Having survived death, Jonah’s violent history is steeped in myth and legend, and has left him with one foot in the natural world and one on the “other side.” His only human connection is with Lila, whose life in a brothel has left her with scars of her own. Jonah’s past is about to catch up with him when the U.S. military makes him an offer he can’t refuse: in exchange for his freedom from the warrants on his head, he must track down and stop the dangerous terrorist Quentin Turnbull. But Turnbull, who is gathering an army and preparing to unleash Hell, is also Jonah’s oldest enemy and will stop at nothing until Jonah is dead.
