Brian Taylor To Score ‘Thor: The Dark World’ – Starring Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman & Tom Hiddleston
Jun 18th
After his work on Marvel’s ‘Iron Man 3,’ Film Music Reporter bring word that Brian Taylor has been tapped to score Marvel Studios’ upcoming superhero sequel ‘Thor: The Dark World,’ replacing composer Carter Burwell who vacated the project over “creative differences” last month. In the film, the likes of Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Idris Elba, Ray Stevenson, Kat Dennings, Jaimie Alexander, Tadanobu Asano, Anthony Hopkins, Tom Hiddleston and Natalie Portman reprise their roles from the first ‘Thor’ film, while Zack Levi is confirmed to play Fandril, Christopher Eccleston will play the villainous Malekith The Accursed, and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje will be playing Algrim the Strong and Kurse.
Set one year after ‘The Avengers,’ Thor battles to save all the Nine Realms from a mysterious enemy older than the universe itself. However, a primeval race led by Malekith, who is out for revenge, intends to descend the universe into darkness. Confronted by an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot overcome, Thor must reunite with Jane Foster and set out on a dangerous journey that will force him to make the ultimate sacrifice.

New Look At Chris Hemsworth’s Thor In ‘Thor: The Dark World’; Marvel’s Kevin Feige Comments On The Film
May 2nd
Entertainment Weekly has unleashed this new image of Chris Hemsworth as the eponymous God of Thunder in the upcoming Marvel film ‘Thor: The Dark World.’ In ‘Thor: The Dark World,’ the likes of Tom Hiddleston, Idris Elba, Ray Stevenson, Kat Dennings, Jaimie Alexander, Tadanobu Asano, Anthony Hopkins, Tom Hiddleston and Natalie Portman also reprise their roles from the first film, while Zack Levi is confirmed to play Fandril, Christopher Eccleston will play the villainous Malekith The Accursed, and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje will be playing Algrim the Strong and Kurse.
Chris Hemsworth’s thunder-summoning god was banished to Earth to learn humility in 2011′s ‘Thor,’ but he’s still grappling with his responsibilities as a leader and protector. “I would say there’s a question of what happens when you’re now seemingly ready for something, but don’t necessarily want it anymore,” Marvel head honcho Kevin Feige tells Entertainment Weekly. “That’s part of his internal struggle. Tony Stark wasn’t perfect at the end of Iron Man 1, and I don’t think Thor is perfect at the end of Thor 1 – particularly in his relationship with his brother, considering what he went through in Avengers.”
Jaimie Alexander Speaks On ‘Thor: The Dark World,’ Sif’s Thoughts On Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster & Wonder Woman
Apr 26th
As the first trailer for ‘Thor: The Dark World’ arrived online earlier this week, IGN spoke with Jaimie Alexander about the trailer, what we can expect from the film, and also fans’ desire to see her play Wonder Woman. In the trailer Alexander’s Lady Sif looks none too happy to see Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster. On the topic of Lady Sif’s feelings toward Jane in ‘Thor: The Dark World,’ Alexander revealed, “Well, I think that everyone can tell from the trailer that Jane comes to Asgard, which could pose a threat. You know, we’re bringing someone from another realm into our realm who technically shouldn’t be able to survive there. So I think she’s really, more than seeing Jane as a threat to somebody that she loves in a love triangle way, it’s more that Jane could be a threat to her people. And Sif is very protective of her fellow Asgardians and the throne and that sort of thing, so she’s quite wary of Jane. But also, she really, really loves Thor — as a comrade, as a warrior and as the future king of Asgard — but also as a man.
She continued, “So I think it’s very hard for her to see that he still has feelings for this other person. But you really get to see how much she loves him because she does end up sacrificing a lot. It’s a great part this time around. It was a lot of fun, and you get to see a more vulnerable side of Sif. You also get to see more of Asgard, the daily life in Asgard and the Warriors [Three] and where they come from, things like that. It’s going to be a lot of fun.”
